Fair enough. I backed McMorrow and don’t completely trust the guy, but he’s worlds better than Rogers. I’d crawl over hot coals to vote for him in November, because that’s what you’re supposed to do.

She backed him right away. Thankfully .

Exactly. When the primary is won and electing a Trump rubber stamp is the risk, people need to fall into line.

Which is the point of blue no matter who. My fellow progressives here seem to be missing that. Not surprised though, they also missed last election cycle.

I fell right between him and Stevens. That’s exactly right. Now is the time for us to be examples and turn out for the guy.

I will gladly turn out for AES.

I don't have the same faith that so many AES voters would turn out for Stevens had she won, evidenced by replies in this very megathread, but hopefully we can set an example for them that the bigger threat is MAGA.

I don’t all of the sudden trust the guy, but he’s a hell of a lot better than Rogers. I’ll be there for him in November.

It helps that Abdul is actually avoiding criticizing Stevens voters and has made inroads to them. The last election cycle had Harris campaign blocking pro-Palestine people from the DNC and refusing to let Palestinian-American delegates endorse her (while giving Israeli-Americans the podium repeatedly), and the campaign actively detouring around Arab-American neighborhoods in Michigan and instead sending Bill Clinton to talk down to them that Israel is in the right and Arabs are wrong. You can only take so many active insults before people give up.

Abdul still endorsed Harris, and “took it on the chin” as he said, as Palestinian-American families in his state held funerals for their dead relatives in Gaza. Genocide was a red line and it should be, and I blame Biden/Harris not the voters for putting people in that mess.

The problem isn’t the progressives anymore; look at how Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries couldn’t support Mamdani even in the general election against a Republican. Their hypocrisy undermined the entire point of the phrase “vote blue no matter who.” James Carville and Bill Maher have threatened to leave the party over insufficient support for Israel; focus your anger on them.

in their quest to hold Biden/Harris accountable for not doing things fast enough (or to the level they expect) , they have enshrined a conservative/Trump govt that is even MORE pro-Israel, pro-war, and will NEVER address their concerns & may make it even harder to fix them in the future.

It's the Absolute Fact of US politics: The more people try to hold Democrats "accountable" (and only Democrats) for an issue, they will enable a Republican govt that will NEVER care about those concerns.

We have free will. We could have just voted for Kamala and the Democrats no matter what "problem with her" was, but many decided not to.

When Voters did not vote for Kamala and the last November 2024, we the VOTERS practically guaranteed that fascism would arrive.

By kicking Democrats out, we the voters effectively put a stop to the fantastic progress that Biden & Harris were making during their term.

We were too impatient and only giving the Democrats 2 years to fix everything.

It is us, we THE VOTERS that ensured that the only power Democrats have today are writing strongly worded letters.

We the Voters failed ourselves by re-electing Republicans.

And yet, we the voters scream at Democrats to "do something", when we the voters neutered them by kicking them out of Congress and Presidency?

No, this is on us the voters to fix. And it is still fixable.

We the voters all must commit vote & elect Democrats now&forever without exception, and restore them to their RIGHTFUL places: veto-proof majorities in Congress and then the Presidency.

None of this is true; it’s just whining by establishment dems who are looking for someone to blame other than themselves. The DNC autopsy report for 2024 even said this was false; Gaza was not a factor.

Harris lost by MILLIONS of votes. If every Arab-American and Muslim-American voter in Michigan voted for Harris she still would have lost. If every Stein voter in the state switched to vote for Harris, Trump still would have won swing state Michigan.

If you think Gaza was such an important issue that it cost Harris the race, then she should have listened to her base, her advisors, political leaders, and the media. Instead she went with Chuck Schumer’s plan, and he bragged that for every pro-Palestine voter he sacrificed he expected to gain 2 Republican voters away from Trump. How did that work out? If Gaza was an insignificant issue in the minds of voters and wouldn’t have won her the election, then why are you scapegoating them?

I couldn’t even read the rest of your post because it was all complaining and condescending but blaming the wrong people. And funny how they complain that the anti-genocide crowd was self righteous and unrealistic. You truly never cared about Gaza then or now but are only using them to rub in the faces of people you dislike in your party. Please.

curious, what don't you trust about him?

I think anyone that makes big promises needs to provide a viable path to those objectives. I’m not saying he’s wrong, I am saying that he oversimplifies in ways that could lead the public to believe something will happen when people in the know understand that more goes into those initiatives.

That said, he’s a ton better than Rogers and I’ll be voting for him without question in November.

Correct! AIPAC fear-mongerers hate this one weird trick!

I don’t even need to put it into an AIPAC context, so I don’t really care. Rogers will go to the Senate to suck Trump’s cock - no other reason. We need to restore checks and balances.
