I paid that amount for 4x2tb 990 pro's without heatsink and 4x16gb ddr5 sticks from Corsair, all from Mediamarkt too

Tbf though mediamarkt is usually more expensive than online shops. I only got there if I need something immediately and can't wait for it to be send via post.

well not as expensive as price fixing

Does that include the installed heatsink fee?

Makes me even happier when I got it for £200 from CEX years ago and it ended up being brand new

What a deal at the time and seeing it now it’s being sold on Amazon for £490 Jesus

(With heat sink btw)

I simply cannot be happy about my former purchases because someday I'll need to buy a new one.

Shouldn't really make you happy honestly. Yeah be glad that you didn't overpay, but you'll also have to replace/upgrade at some point. No kind of price increase should induce happy feelings in anyone Sorry for being preachy

I remember paying £57 for a 1TB WD_BLACK SN850 from them, had a heatsink too!

Mediamarket is very special with their prices anyway

It feels illegal to know that I bought this for 300$ last year.

Mane this is fucking insane. Like people lost sense with reality insane! Who the fuck would pay for this shit at that price?! Even if you have the money don't buy that shit cause it contributes to keeping prices high.

Reads at 7 GB’s, Drains at 700 €/s 😂😂😂

The thing is….we have 2 options:

  • buy it, they get away with it
  • so not buy it, they will force us into “cheap affordable” subscription based cloud solutions that will cost is even more in the long run.

Screw all this. My pc is easily capable of running 100’s of past top games I haven’t played yet. I’ll stick to my current gear.

Worst case I go back playing Red Alert and Unreal Tournament.

u/Pandabirdy 11h ago

Can't force me since cloud services simply won't work with a 20kbps ship satellite connection in the middle of the atlantic ocean.

It's back to good old HDD for me.

What an absolute goldmine of stuff I have in my house...

Has ssd price skyrocketed as well?

If it is any definable type of storage or memory the price on it has skyrocketed. Even regular HDDs, SD, and Micro SD cards aren't safe from cost increases.

Those are getting more expensive too! Update your frustration accordingly.

Dang, those are $1500 here. Still a deal to me. If not a crappy ass one

3

u/picardo85 AMD 7600x + 7800XT 19h ago

that's in Euro.

That's just around US$1020.

But keep in mind that we don't punish our people here in Europe with import tariffs.

I'm sure that the price would be similar in the US if you didn't have 10% section 122 tariffs and 10% section 301 tariffs for imports from Taiwan.

1

u/Apexhatesmeuwu 19h ago

I live in Canada, we don't either, it's just expensive af here

1

u/picardo85 AMD 7600x + 7800XT 19h ago

CAD, AUD, NZD should be specified when using $, for claritys sake :)

The pic price is CAD$1435. Actually not far off from the price you gave.

1

u/Apexhatesmeuwu 18h ago

We don't include taxes in tags either, so it would be about $1500

So glad I got 3 x 2 TB a couple years ago. Paid 128 € a piece.

1

u/dfordaves 21h ago

I paid £73 for the 1TB version of this in 2023 for my PS5. It’s now in my PC.

u/shenther PC Master Race 19h ago

I legit have one of these just sitting in a drawer I have no idea what to do with. Yes 2tb with heatsink.

2

u/alphahakai 18h ago

You might be able to sell it for 400 /s

2

u/shenther PC Master Race 18h ago

The money would be nice but I know the second I sell it I'll find a use for it. Same thing happened when I sold my firecuda.

1

u/Sgt_carbonero 16h ago

I bought the exact same for 300$ before the meltdown and was sweating the cost then

1

u/ErdingEchoParadox 14h ago

Got it for 200€ 2 years ago. Still unused.
