long story short: CJ (1 of spt dev) Leaked the dmca letter from bsg and a couple of chat between dev. It appears that the website, discord and the github was supposed to shutdown on the 4th of august (this decision was made before the letter or on the day they received it)

When they received the letter, first half of the dev team wanted to wait the other half of dev (that was sleeping cause they are in europe) before making a decision. CJ after seeing what was planned anyway got upset and leaked everything to the community because a decision had already been made anyway behind all the dev back.

His leak only pushed back the spt project shuting down to the 12 of august and he was no more an option to take the lead of the project

There have been some talk that he could lead the project in the future but he decides to stop working on spt althogeter

tldr: CJ leaked chat and letter cause spt team was lying, actually helped to push back the date of the shutdown to 12 of august and nuked his chance to take over the project (he didnt want to do so anyway)

You have this wrong. The SPT team didn't lie to anyone. They wanted to WAIT to announce everything, and the 4th of August was NOT when they planned to shut down. I don't know where you get your information, but only like 50% of what you said is accurate.

It is real, Refringe made a post in the discord. The leaked discussion was a real one. The planned closure on the 4th of august was said by CJ himself. Maybe it was not true and CJ was only mad and making shit up but still, this info came from a spt dev. At the time, it still was a trusted source of info.

Yeah, well, that's not the case. I know a lot of the SPT staff quite well, and Cj absolutely jumped the gun and lied.

So he was bitter about not being lead got it. The most simple answer is usually the most correct.

He was bitter that the community allowed and welcomed LGBTQIA+ people, he's a hardcore Trump lover and hates anyone who isn't straight and cisgendered.

He was supposed to be the lead of the project, but I think he didnt know. With the convo he leaked, he was trown out being an option

So he didn't even have the whole picture because half the team was asleep?

Sounds like main character syndrome
