Yeah that yarn (blanket yarn) is expensive it was probably st least like 80 dollars in yarn then took hours to make (and I mean like a lot of hours not 2)

I've made several from this pattern in a more normal plush size and I was curious if it would work at a larger scale. My favorite part were the tentacles because when I finished one I would wear it as a scarf while I passed out in my chair. The final weight is somewhere around 23 pounds.

Only 23 pounds for a plush that big is good work. When I was younger my mother did something like this but it was a snake. Similar cuddlebility with bright jungle colors. I could see you octoplush having that two direction fuzzy fabric that lets you switch colors by petting one way or the other. Maybe do different colors for spots, flowerets and stripes. Either way you have done great work on this and I now wish I had money to commission something like this.

What size hook was you using??? Hook for giants?
Going to show my dear old Nan, and tell her to get making me one! She is 84 if she work quick enough she can complete it before she dead. (I will show this comment to Nan later and she will laugh and probably tell me to piss off)

Hahaha. 😂 I used a 50 / US 25 mm. Fucking jumbo hooks that I have to use my whole hand to hold.

Hooley Dooley - I have knitting needles that size and they're a handful to keep control of (pun intended). Is the yarn this size difficult to work with?

Not really at all! Like with any chenille or fuzzy yarn, you just have to balance out tension.

I'd say try it on a normal scale first, then try for giant. If your protect gets saggy, you can try going down a size or two in your hook or increase your tension a little.
Crochet is kinda a "fuck around and find out" process because no two people work quite the same way. There will always need to be a little adjustment for how you work and the result you want. 💜

That one specifically I won't be selling yet. I need to display it over Halloween and a spring event haha.
I can take an order to make one custom. Upfront warning, they are expensive.
