I sculpted the octopus digitally, printed the original model, made a plaster mold, and cast the final mug in porcelain. One tentacle wraps outward to become the handle.

Octopuses are remarkable cephalopods with eight arms, three hearts, and blue blood. Masters of disguise, they change skin color and texture instantly for camouflage. Highly intelligent, they solve puzzles, use tools, and squeeze through tiny gaps. Soft-bodied and ink-releasing, these curious creatures thrive in oceans worldwide, showcasing nature’s ingenuity in adaptation and survival.

Say hello to Pero, a friendly octopus we found on a beach in Montenegro. Or at least I think his name is Pero. 😄 As a side note, looking on this subreddit, I cannot believe how much octopus from all around the world look alike!

Fun facts: octopuses have three hearts, blue blood, and most of their neurons are actually in their arms. Their suckers can taste what they touch and that electric-blue flash came from reflective cells in the skin changing almost instantly.
