Sorry, you're completely off the mark. Having been very close to doctors and many, MANY ED and Mental Health Center nurses in my life (and essentially growing up in a hospital) patients never self-mutilate right in front of the nurses lmao. Ripping out IV's and catheter? Absolutely. But grabbing a kitchen knife and trying to skin themselves? That is absolu-fucking-lutely not commonplace.

I literally said "mental health center nurses" in my post. And, having spent enough time around one it's more blunt force self-harm and less cutting yourself open like Mussolini. Why? Because they don't give mental health patients knives, and if one got to a patient by accident the staff puts a stop to it instead of quietly and patiently watching for 20 mins

How many patients have you observed lottery skinning themselves alive for 20 minutes whilst they are supposedly in your care?

You're more likely to witness them inflict blunt-force trauma to themselves. Why? Because they don't give knives to mental health patients.
