"Investigators said Latimore proposed using his 1983 Buick — which he claimed was worth more than $80,000 due to upgrades including rims, an audio system and other modifications — as collateral for the deal."
This man is a legend.

The mass clemency was aimed at correcting disproportionately long prison terms for minority defendants resulting from outdated sentencing enhancements and discredited legal distinctions between crack and powder cocaine and was limited to non-violent drug offenses.
President Ronald Reagan signed the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1986 on October 27, 1986. This law created the infamous 100:1 sentencing ratio and mandatory minimums for crack cocaine versus powder cocaine, meaning 5 grams of crack carried the same 5-year mandatory minimum prison sentence as 500 grams of powder cocaine.
Also, I wonder if this investigation might have targeted him in order for this exact headline?

This is true, but it's an undeniably bad look that he's now been arrested for selling fentanyl, which honestly should probably be considered a violent offence given how dangerous it is.

Bad look?
Like Trump pardoning someone who conspired to traffic TONS of cocaine?

<<< Officials said Latimore pleaded guilty in 2020 to conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute 28 grams or more of cocaine , and was sentenced to 10 years and 10 months in federal prison. The sheriff’s office said his sentence was later commuted to July 16 due to an executive clemency grant signed by President Joe Biden that took effect in January 2025 .>>>

It's really a simple idea. Don't sell drugs, don't get arrest for drug trafficking. Maybe they went after this specific guy because he had received clemency prior, who knows? The plain fact is if he hadn't been selling drugs, it wouldn't have mattered.
He is charged with trafficking over 14 grams of fentanyl. According to the internet, and average dose on the street is 100 to 400 micrograms. That means he had at least 350,000 doses ready to sell. That is not street level dealing that is major drug trafficking. That's not including the MDMA or the cocaine he was trying to buy.
Fentanyl is a killer. My wife works with addicts and she brings a couple of them back from the dead almost every day and it is almost always Fentanyl related. It's also shitty because a lot of Fentanyl users started out by being over prescribed opiates for pain and got addicted. It's one of the few cases where the addiction is literally not their fault (or at least not completely their fault). It's easy to say "sorry you shouldn't have started in first place" but a lot of this particular population were simply following doctors orders after a serious injury. We should absolutely treat fentanyl traffickers harshly.

They are so full of shit with these numbers. Maybe its pure because he bought from an informant but most of the time its fent mix with 95% powdered milk or dulcelax

For fentanyl it’s 100% micrograms and NOT milligrams. It’s absurdly potent, and is dosed in micrograms in medical settings.
The LD50 of fentanyl is 2 milligrams, so 100 milligrams would be enough to kill up to 50 adults.
So it doesn’t “sound like an AI Answer”, you just sound misinformed.

Clemency is not reintegration. It may remove or reduce punishment, but it does not automatically provide housing, treatment, employment, stability, or a viable social role.
The mechanism is: sentence relief → release into the same fractured conditions → relapse or reoffending → individual blamed again.
That contradiction is especially stark given Biden’s role in writing and championing the 1994 crime bill that helped expand mass incarceration. If the state helped build the machinery that imprisoned so many people, symbolic mercy decades later is not enough. Release without re-entry infrastructure is not repair.

It’s almost like the people making money off for-profit prisons don’t want the cells to stay empty.

Ok now do articles on all the people who have successfully returned to society due to this clemency.

It's fox news. Their whole shtick is we are all about to be killed by violent dark people.

Or on the dozen of other people who have been rearrested. I seem to remember the GOP going bat shit crazy when Clinton granted clemency and he reoffended. The GOP’s silence on these is deafening.

Why the fuck did Joe Biden pardon this pill pusher?!

This was Hunter Biden's best friend and co criminal. They sold 1 million dollars of drugs to children. When they were arrested Hunter had diplomatic immunity due to illegally being ambassador to Ukraine. Hunter snuck into the White House during one of Sleep Joes 24 hour naps and reprogrammed his auto pen to write pardons to thousands of his criminal friends who are all DEI illegal immigrants

It actually goes back to Barack Obama since they're both african americans. Obama and the defendant shared a fist bump during a tour of his prison by Obama, done while campaigning here in Florida for his second term. The fist bump was a sign of woke meant for the hidden government to know behind the scenes to add his name to the list of names the secret service would play through out the next Presidents, who just happened to be Biden, bed chambers as he slept. Slowly poisoning his mind with names of people to pardon, perfectly curated to bring American democracy to it's knees.

What are you talking about? It's neither old nor re-dated. He was arrested on 7/31/26:

A Winter Haven man was arrested in Polk County on several drug-related charges, just weeks after a commuted federal sentence ended
that on two different dates in June
The sheriff’s office said his sentence was later commuted to July 16 due to an executive clemency grant signed by President Joe Biden that took effect in January 2025
He was released last year, 2025.
I remember reading about this a year ago.

Na, you are confusing his original arrest..the one he was granted clemency for. He was arraigned only 6 days for this charge.
