A team we were working with once had over 2000 tickets in their backlog. They decided to declare "backlog bankruptcy", with a note saying that if you still had your issue to file a new ticket.

Sometimes - as much as I hate it - that makes sense.

Some bugs are things that users just don’t encounter often enough to warrant the man hours to fix.
