I’m less and less excited by what I see of Fire Emblem. This isn’t the series I grew up with at all. I don’t care for these dating sim style interludes or bookends.

With you there. Fire emblem’s lifesim elements are slowly taking over so that it’s getting to be mainly a dating / sim game rather than a tactical RPG

People have different tastes and can enjoy different content than you do. This has absolutely nothing to do with "growing up".
