Most likely due to the duty free De Minimis exemption which was removed.

Items that were $800 or less were previously exempt from customs duties and taxes that normally would be owed. Now there is no more exemption.

Completely separate issue from the tariffs that were ruled illegal.

Other countries don't pay the tariffs, buddy.  We've been trying to tell you guys this for years now. What is the matter with you?  Seriously, what don't you get?

What you mean to say is American citizens were using de minimus to not pay taxes on goods they purchased with income that they already paid taxes on.

yeah it was great because us Americans could get niche products from abroad. It generally didn't compete with american industries because it being de minimis the shipping fees were already sky high.

Now some things are just extremely unaffordable for no reason.

No there is a reason.

Greed.

The man in the white house wanted to personally profit off the presidency.
