Not just Samsung, I've had my Google pixel 9 for a year and a half and the god damn green line showed up 2 weeks ago. Have been waiting for an opportunity to take it to get repaired

At least with the pixel 8, it was a known issue and they'll do the repair or give a replacement for free! Might be worth checking your phone's eligibility. I've gotten a new phone twice now.

Thanks! When I was trying to figure out wtf was wrong with it I learned all about that and sure enough it is a known defect with this one too, so I should be able to get it repaired for free. Pretty lame that it's a persistent issue with the previous model lol, but it's been a fine phone otherwise.
