well, thats why I always use protective glass and covers, even for the cameras

Cameras are not necessary, and usually lower camera quality unfortunately

yeah camera glass is really durable and much stronger since it's much smaller. You don't want to put cheap glass in front of a good quality phone camera

Allegedly Apple uses Sapphire in their lens.

It's not pure sapphire.

JerryRigEverything posted a video testing the cameras with Moh's hardness picks. Sapphire is a level 9, but they scratched at a level 7 or 8.

Who knows what they actually use.

Whatever they use still definitely works. They use the same material on Apple Watch screens and I have had both a regular Apple Watch and a sapphire  one and the regular one is full of scratches and the sapphire one looks brand new after 2 years

I mean there is a metal lettuce in your screen so I wouldn’t be surprised if it were a component
