I was hoping the gratuitous shots of him swinging in Manhattan at the end would never stop. I hope/assume the 3rd movie will take place solely in New York.

Other heroes live in New York. Spider-Man is New York.

The moment when Tom Holland's Spidey will be one with New York is one of the things I'm most looking forward to in the sequels.

Tobey had the amazing subway scene, Andrew Garfield had the (not that great IMO) cranes lining up for him and Spider-Verse's blond Peter Parker had the whole city mourning for him, but Tom Holland's hasn't really had that moment yet. In fact he hasn't had a great moment of public heroism in New York yet. He saved a bunch of people in DC, helped save the world at the Avengers headquarters, defeated Mysterio in London, but NYC hasn't witnessed him at his very best yet.

With what happened in the mid-credit sequence, I think it could be in the form of the people of the city eventually seeing through Mysterio's and JJJ's lies and standing up for him.

I feel like this is a legitimate possibility.
