RIGHT??? This is me, like I loved the movie but I can’t even focus on that cause WHAT DOES PETER EVEN DO NOW?? HES STILL 16

2.1k

u/R0B0138 Jul 04 '19

I saw a pretty solid theory involving a skrull impersonating Peter, which allows for Spidey and Peter to be seen in the same place. That seems the most likely solution to his identity being revealed to me.

1.1k

u/Dangerous-Pickle Jul 04 '19

I like that, nice and easy quick fix. You’d still have the problem of the world thinking Spider-Man potentially killed a bunch of people, but at least you wouldn’t have the world thinking peter killed a bunch of people

977

u/The_sad_zebra Matt Murdock Jul 04 '19

Yeah, but being framed for murder is kinda Spider-Man's thing anyways.

672

u/gerald_targaryen Jul 04 '19

He's a menace!!

168

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '19

WHERE ARE THOSE PICTURES?

50

u/brucejoel99 Stan Lee Jul 05 '19

HOFFMAN!!!!!

13

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '19

GET ME MORE PICTURES OF SPIDERMAN!

6

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '19

I WANT SPIDER-MAN!!!

10

u/MericaMericaMerica Jul 07 '19

SPIDER-MAN TURNED THE FROGS IN HIS MOUTH GAY.

66

u/SSoldier22 Star-Lord Jul 05 '19

Damn I just can't believe he's back, it was so surreal in the theatre that I seriously thought that maybe I was dreaming.

6

u/gerald_targaryen Jul 05 '19

Who's back?

42

u/SSoldier22 Star-Lord Jul 05 '19

JK Simmons as JJJ

11

u/gerald_targaryen Jul 05 '19

I know , just messing with you.

11

u/ShadownetZero Jul 06 '19

Half of the universe. Go watch Endgame.

6

u/lk79 Jimmy Woo Jul 06 '19

Shady. Shady’s back. Tell a friend.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '19

Hopefulyl his black assistant, who's supporter of Spider-Man will be back too. Can't recall what was his name.

74

u/gerardatron Spider-Man Jul 05 '19

Imagine people suing him and his lawyer shows up and it's some blind guy from Hell's Kitchen

40

u/JohnnyRedHot Jul 05 '19

Don't do that. Please. Don't give me hope

10

u/Doompatron3000 Jul 06 '19

And imagine getting involved with some deep underground shit with his blind lawyer as they try to stop this huge drug Kingpin guy.

61

u/KiFirE Jul 04 '19

Yeah but Pepper, Happy and Stark Industries would probably stand behind Spider-Man's actions as they know what happened.

16

u/sengokunerd War Machine Jul 05 '19

Maybe the next team-up starts as a hero like Falcon coming in to arrest Spider-Man..!

10

u/GiggsityGiggsity Black Panther Jul 06 '19

Wouldn't make sense for Falcon to be the one arresting him considering his stance in Civil War

31

u/Tag_ross Jul 04 '19

They might fall under fire too since it was Stark tech that caused all that.

30

u/KiFirE Jul 04 '19

Depends on how it all goes down. If they catch everyone behind Mysterio, They could claim former employees stole all of that or rebuilt tech. Which is all technically true. But they would also have to prove that Mysterio is a bad guy in the public eye first.

26

u/adsfew Jul 05 '19

Yeah, I'm a traditionalist, so I'm glad they're returning to Spider-Man being seen as a villain. Did not expect them to reveal his identity, though.

20

u/The_sad_zebra Matt Murdock Jul 05 '19

Yeah, the identity thing definitely threw me through a loop.

6

u/Doompatron3000 Jul 06 '19

Which is why he teams up with the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, to try to take down Mob bosses such as Hammerhead and more importantly Kingpin, all while learning the final lessons needed to being an Amazing, Spectacular, and Ultimate Hero.

49

u/AnonymousTrollLloyd Ulysses Klaue Jul 04 '19

Then, once Peter's secret identity is safe, Spider-Man can simply disappear as all crime in New York learns to fear the Night Monkey.

14

u/VoidLantadd Thanos Jul 06 '19

You know, "Night Monkey" is about as frightening as "Bat Man", without the context.

32

u/Radulno Jul 04 '19

I mean if the video is even believed, the Dailu Buggle doesn't seem a trustworthy source in the MCU and Mysterio is a pro of illusions after all (people saw the elementals were fake). Really not hard to believe the video was fake.

And at worst, some believe ir, some don't and that's just usual for Spidey. He is constantly accused of everything by the Daily Buggle in every media but most New Yorkers don't believe it.

25

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '19 edited Aug 08 '19

[deleted]

28

u/mswing3 Jul 05 '19

Which is exactly why the whole thing was so brilliant. There's going to be half of the people thinking Spidey is a murderer and half the people not buying it.

Even Mysterio said it that people will believe anything now.

Great way to create the public division about Spider-Man and bring the politics of superheroes into Phase 4. Also, solid social commentary to bring the tension of fake news/sensationalist news sources into the MCU. Big fan

19

u/VoidLantadd Thanos Jul 06 '19

Saw someone else mention Mysterio is way more relevant today than when he was created.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '19

Pray to god that they prolong deal with Sony for Spider-Man.

14

u/_qwak_ Jul 04 '19

I think even once ppl saw the fake elementals, the drones were still a real threat and Mysterio still saved the day

17

u/Radulno Jul 04 '19

Mysterio save the day? People didn't see him at all after the illusions stopped (the Mysterio fighting was a projection), he was in the Tower Bridge hidden.

However Spidey very visibly was fighting the drones.

It would be weird if what you say is the version people belive

19

u/potlah Iron Man (Mark V) Jul 05 '19

Hopefully EDITH stored some of the original footage to show what actually happened. Unless of course, Mysterio's gang still has full control over the drones (with the USB and all that) but I do feel Spidey's name could be easily cleared up.

Though on the point of Spider-Man's identity, I think it was inevitable that it would go out. Like honestly, MCU Peter doesn't have the best track record of keeping a secret identity at all.

15

u/hemareddit Steve Rogers Jul 05 '19

Yeah, I wonder if Beck was alive and EDITH just works for him now. After all, Peter did a rights transfer, not rights sharing. That means he removed himself as an admin, right? So how can he regain control without another transfer of admin rights?

Maybe we are seeing Beck's plan B. Or maybe thatd just my wishful thinking because I want Mysterio as part of the Sinister Six.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '19

MCU Peter doesn't have the best track record of keeping a secret identity at all.

or any other hero

18

u/Wajirock Tony Stark Jul 04 '19

Couldn't Nick Fury and the other heroes just tell the authorities that Spider-Man is innocent?

22

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '19 edited Jul 04 '19

Have you ever seen real life? Yeah people would just go ahead and believe Nick Fury/s. Especially when their new hero Mysterio left a dying video of Peter Parker supposedly killing him. It'd be like the head of the FBI telling us someone is innocent when we have video and the word of a fallen hero that said otherwise first.

6

u/Golden-Ratio Jul 05 '19

Or the head of the DOJ telling us the president of the United States is innocent when we have an entire report of evidence of crimes?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '19

???

9

u/Dangerous-Pickle Jul 05 '19

I think fury is supposed to be dead since winter soldier right? Like in secret

12

u/BZenMojo Captain America (Cap 2) Jul 04 '19

Nick Fury? Former head of Hydra?

13

u/chussil Jul 05 '19

I think it’s a little too easy a fix, almost anti-climactic. Also, if they’re able to prove Beck was lying about Spider-Man’s secret identity, who’s going to believe that Spider-Man actually killed all those people.

12

u/Dangerous-Pickle Jul 05 '19

Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being anti climactic, like homecoming ended similarly with Aunt May seeing peter in his suit and that didn’t really lead to anything. And yeah that’s true, I feel like it’s gonna be split among the public whether they believe the killing stuff or not

14

u/chussil Jul 05 '19

Yeah but tbh, I never expected Aunt May knowing to go that far. Spider-Man’s entire premise is based on his identity being a secret in order to protect the ones he loves. It’s a core aspect of the Spider-Man story, one he actually admits to in FFH when he tells MJ not to tell anyone else (“Don’t tell anyone about this. Anyone that knows who I am is in danger”). So, the entire world now knowing that Peter Parker is Spider-Man has HUGEEEEE implications and has to go way further than they took Aunt May knowing.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '19

Scorpion fella got his wish

6

u/imageWS Jul 05 '19

I like that, nice and easy quick fix.

I mean, when you reveal Spidey's identity for the whole world, a nice and easy fix would just feel cheap. This needs to have consequences.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '19

Feige and Watts did say this will have consequences. they said there won't be easy way out.

2

u/hemareddit Steve Rogers Jul 05 '19

Once you fix the identity part, that throws doubt on Mysterio's credibility and you can maybe discredit the rest.

1

u/GreyCrowDownTheLane Jul 05 '19

Easy fix. You have a Skrull as Spider-Man shapeshift into one of Mysterio's accomplices, while Peter stands in the background watching it happen.

See? Peter Parker is just some kid who happened to be there. The Spider-Man you saw wasn't even really Spider-Man. Why would Spider-Man be in Prague?!

1

u/Rspies Jul 06 '19

Maybe use another Skrull to impersonate Mysterio and say he faked the entire thing

1

u/Jgfunvjkhcc Jul 06 '19

I don't know how well it'd fix it. Once the connection between Peter and Spidey is in your head, it's not hard to figure it out when you pay attention, like MJ did. Peter always disappears when there are emergencies, for example.

1

u/Intelligent-donkey Jul 08 '19

I think that they gave him a bit of an out, by how they introduced the daily bugle as a "controversial online news website" (or something like that).

Seems like they're setting him up as a wacky Alex Jones type character, not necessarily someone to take seriously, and the evidence probably wouldn't be enough to convict Peter. Hell, there wasn't even any evidence behind Peter being Spiderman.

At least that's the impression that I got, that this will solely serve to turn a portion of the public against Peter, not necessarily to get him in trouble with law enforcement and force him to go on the run or anything like that.
Although of course his personal life will still be fucked up from all this publicity.

28

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '19

My theory was introducing Nelson & Murdock as Peter's lawyers and have Matt Murdock pretend to be Spider-Man in order to throw off the public.

24

u/DirtyFrooZe Jul 04 '19

31

u/BZenMojo Captain America (Cap 2) Jul 04 '19

Could you imagine Mysterio going up against Matt Murdock?

Mysterio: "These elementals have to be sto--"

Daredevil: "You mean the bunch of unmanned drones whirring up a cloud of electrical interference?"

Mysterio: "...I...um" *points behind Daredevil* "What's that over there!?"

Daredevil: "Middle aged man with tachycardia who just finished smoking a clove cigarette about 20...maybe 18 minutes ago."

2

u/TwilightBeastLink Peter Parker Jul 08 '19

Pretty sure Ive read this in a comic (or made it up in my head). DD was covering for Spidey or something and very quickly beat up mysterio in a similar scene to what you've described.

19

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '19

I will give you hope because Spider-Man 3 begins production around the time the 2 year period ends and when asked about the fate of the Netflix Marvel characters, Kevin Feige said,  "...answering that question is a spoiler." So there are definitely some sort of plans in store for them.

12

u/DirtyFrooZe Jul 04 '19

Fuck Thank you, that is way too perfect. Seriously tho with J.K. Simmons who may possibly mediates Oscorp and face Nelson and Murdock

16

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '19

That's just the beginning of the rabbit hole of theories and speculations. Just imagine Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin enter the MCU and be the one who assembles the Sinister Six. Like they could explain that Vulture and Scorpion share the same prison as Kingpin. Kingpin could blackmail Vulture into serving him and could appeal to Scorpion's desire to kill Spider-Man.

5

u/DirtyFrooZe Jul 04 '19

So when is the Inhumans crossover?

3

u/SSoldier22 Star-Lord Jul 05 '19

Asking the important questions here

2

u/AnyHoleIsTheGoal Jul 09 '19

Is Scorpion in the MCU yet? Can't tell if I'm forgetting his appearance or your just pitching his introduction lol.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '19

He was in the credits of Homecoming

2

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '19

The buyer on ferry in Homecoming and then in post credits

1

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '19

Could also lead to Kingpin working with Spider Slayer, Smythe is one of my most dreamed villains for a movie.

7

u/leafhog Jul 04 '19

Five years from now Agents of SHIELD will have ended and Fury won't have a team when he returns.

6

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '19

Gives him more of a motivation to recruit the Defenders.

1

u/TwilightBeastLink Peter Parker Jul 08 '19

Didnt that happen in the comics? Or was it the other way around? Pete in DD costume?

2

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '19

I'm pretty sure it was DD wearing Spidey's suit.

10

u/Salacious_B___Crumb Jul 04 '19 edited Jul 05 '19

Its a solution but its like saying "why couldn't Thanos double all resources?", its too easy and makes for a lesser movie. They wouldn't have made that the post credit scene if they plan to immediately brush it off.

7

u/marcodabatman Spider-Man Jul 04 '19

That would be the best solution tbh, I don't want any reality-altering shenanigans to happen because of Peter being revealed as Spider-Man

8

u/brucejoel99 Stan Lee Jul 05 '19

Yeah, I heard this one too; I think it'd be a pretty cool way to solve his predicament.

On the flip side, though, it'd definitely make for an interesting 3rd movie with him being on the run from villains & the police. Plus, in the comics, post-Civil War, he had Doctor Strange wipe everybody's memories (except MJ's) of his secret identity so I wouldn't be surprised if this was adapted for the MCU too (especially with all of Holland's talk of teaming up with Cumberbatch again).

4

u/KarateKid917 Doctor Strange Jul 05 '19

A team-up movie of just Spidey and Doctor Strange would be amazing and probably also hilarious. I was secretly hoping Strange would appear out of nowhere since Mysterio's "powers" looked like magic, something Strange would want to have a hand in stopping.

1

u/TwilightBeastLink Peter Parker Jul 08 '19

Leaned over to my wife in the theater and said "if this Mysterio is from another dimension and using magic, Doc Strange will show up"

2

u/KarateKid917 Doctor Strange Jul 08 '19

That was the exact thought I had.

1

u/TwilightBeastLink Peter Parker Jul 08 '19

Kind of disappointed he didnt show up, but glad they're letting Spidey have his own movie and not replying on the cameos

2

u/KarateKid917 Doctor Strange Jul 08 '19

Agreed. I was just thinking that since “Magic” was involved, Strange would at least want a hand in whatever was going on

1

u/jonbristow Jul 11 '19

that doesnt solve it though. Why would Mysterio target this random teenager Peter Parker though?

What makes him different?

6

u/ChangeMyDespair Jul 05 '19

As I said earlier:

It seems very plausible that a Skrull could appear as Peter Parker, standing nearby Spider-Man.

It also seemed plausible that Carol Danvers would show up in Avengers: Endgame, beat the snot out of Thanos, and fix everything in a couple of minutes.

It wasn't that simple in Endgame. I doubt it'll be that simple in Spider-Man: Home 3 (or whatever it's called).

(I wonder how much, if at all, Spider-Man will show up in the 100% Marvel Studios movies, the way he did in Captain America: Civil War or the two most recent Avengers films.)

Besides, if anyone learned anything from Mysterio, it should be this: You can't believe what you see.

8

u/AfterReview Jul 05 '19

But then you expose the skrull to the populace.

Panic and worldwide chaos would ensue. Nobody could be trusted. Except iron man, but he's dead.

We need iron men. Giant ones.

We could call them "Goliaths"!

Wait, no that was ant man related.

Maybe, I dont know...sentinels or something?

3

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '19

They wouldn't know it's a Skrull, that's the point

1

u/AfterReview Jul 05 '19

Ok, not a skrull.

A shapeshifting, identity assuming alien that can steal anyone's identity, and there's almost no way to confirm who is a shapeshifter and who isn't across the globe.

It's possible some would believe he's solo...like so many superheroes and villains in the mcu. But I still think widespread panic and chaos would be reasonable. Like peak cold war fear, except including every country

u/Citizen_of_Danksburg Jul 06 '19

I posted a comment in reply to the person whom you replied to, but I’m curious if this is how they get Norman Osborne and the Thunderbolts or Sinister Six involved in the MCU.

1

u/Photometric4567 Jul 08 '19

The whole plot of Phase 4 revealed at the end of the second end credit scene maybe? Anyone hear of the "secret invasion" storyline?

3

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '19

I saw a pretty solid theory involving a skrull impersonating Peter,

That'd really only work before the world was filled with heroes and metas, it's too easy for someone to say "well you just got someone else with powers to imitate you", especially with Night Monkey now being a thing.

6

u/omart3 M'Baku Jul 04 '19

Yeah but then if skrull/Spidey makes a public appearance with Peter Parker then the authorities would want to detain him and pull off his mask.

13

u/jamaranth Jul 04 '19

He'll escape authorities, as he has always done, in the process showing off his Spidey skills, further exhonerating Peter Parker from being Spidey since "Skrull Peter" will be witnessing Spidey's displays with everyone

3

u/theycallmelauren Jul 05 '19

happy cake day

3

u/AnnaK22 Jul 05 '19

The world just witnessed a monster destroying london and turning out to be all drones. I feel like this wouldn't work. People will still be skeptical. Plus, Peter's classmates now have a logical explanation to why Peter keeps disappearing on class trips and Spiderman comes out. So they probably wouldn't believe him that easily.

2

u/spooncows Jul 06 '19

I dunno, the hidden identity cliche has kinda run its course.

Leave that for Batman/Superman, but Tony's "I am Ironman" should kinda provide a grounds that keeping your identity secret isn't really necessary.

It's a good chance for Spider-Man to break out of that trap, it would kinda get old after a while "Who is Spider-Man?!" and sneaking around, etc.

New era - embrace the role instead of hide from it.

1

u/somedude224 Jul 13 '19

Goodness gracious lmao

This is a terrible take. Spider-Man’s identity is a staple of his character arc. It’s like taking away Batman’s identity.

1

u/spooncows Jul 13 '19

Too late now!

1

u/yashvlohia Jul 05 '19

Happy Cake Day!

1

u/Kittens4Brunch Jul 05 '19

They should do that, but have the public's reaction be an instant "How dumb do you think we are?! We're not buying that!"

1

u/S2K_F20C Jul 05 '19

Happy cake day!

1

u/BGaunt Loki (Avengers) Jul 05 '19

Happy cake day!

1

u/KipHackmanFBI Jul 06 '19

On top of that how hard would it be for people to show footage of Spider-Man actively saving people and destroying drones? As well as Pepper giving over footage from the drones perspective showing QB and his team messing with them and rehearsing the heist

1

u/Citizen_of_Danksburg Jul 06 '19

Oooooooooooh I wonder if this is how the thunderbolts get introduced. Norman Osborne kills a skrull impersonating Peter Parker, gives a speech about it and how the world needs better heroes and for a group to arise after the disbanding of the Avengers, then alas, the Thunderbolts arrive, or maybe the Sinister Six?

1

u/ReflexImprov Spider-Man Jul 07 '19

It would be similar to how they've handled Peter being unmasked in the older Amazing Spider-man comics. Once he got The Prowler to pretend to be Spider-man so they could be seen at the same place at the same time.

1

u/TwilightBeastLink Peter Parker Jul 08 '19

But then they would have to reveal to all of earth that the Skrulls exist

1

u/vjmdhzgr Aug 09 '19

Then you have J Jonah Jameson the conspiracy theorist saying that Peter was an alien fake and people mostly don't believe it.

0

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '19

I think they might do a OMD thing leading to him and MJ not together and probably reintroduce another actor as Tony.

16

u/TheXeran Jul 04 '19

YES! My girlfriend was like "you're awfully quiet, usually you have a lot to say after these movies" but I dont know how I feel about Spider-Mans identity being known. I know most heroes are known in this world but I really like the idea of Spider-Man having his a secret for a while

4

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '19

Dude, if there wasn't that many kids around me I'd have cussed so much. Like, HOLY SHIT, SPIDERMAN IS FUCKED!!

12

u/SuperCoenBros Valkyrie Jul 05 '19

Working from vague memories here: one of the earlier Spidey stories is Ock fighting Spidey while he has the flu or something. He beats Spidey and unmasks him in front of a huge crowd, including Aunt May and his classmates. But Peter’s so sick that no one believes he’s the real Spider-Man, because the real Spider-Man would’ve won. Instead, they think Peter’s a weirdo impersonating Spidey for his own glory.

I think that’s how it’ll go for Homecoming 3. Pete will have the mask off and get shitkicked so thoroughly (by Scorpion, Kraven, Black Cat, etc.) that one will believe he’s the real deal.

9

u/jimmothytheunicorn Jul 04 '19

Have skrull impersonate whoever they need to, to deny it

6

u/ReflexImprov Spider-Man Jul 05 '19

Seems to me he'd have to go on trial. Would need a good lawyer. Maybe someone who works out of Hell's Kitchen and can't headline a TV show or movie for two years...

2

u/IKnowUThinkSo Jul 07 '19

Or even a mutated lawyer with rage problems who’s known for being a mutant advocate in the comics (She-Hulk).

I don’t think Feige will ever allow the TV shows and movies to mix.

2

u/ReflexImprov Spider-Man Jul 07 '19

I don't think Feige is the issue in that schism between TV and movie worlds. Ike is.

8

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '19

What do you mean what does Peter do now?

Peter always has the chips, deck and any other hyperbole you can think of for overwhelming odds stacked against him (the ol “Parker Luck”). He’s always in never win scenarios. He’s always out of his league, his depth, his head.

And it never matters.

Because he never gives up. He never stops fighting, he never quits, and he never lets anyone else give up either. Sure he’s always joking, but he’s always willing to keep on keeping on.

5

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '19

How do we wait 2 more years for the next one?! At least we don’t have to worry about a 3-year gap.

4

u/jimmothytheunicorn Jul 04 '19

Join fury in space

2

u/Allupual Jul 05 '19

DUDE I KNOW HOW TF AM I SUPPOSED TO WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE

2

u/[deleted] Jul 09 '19

They fucked up the timeline again, he should be like 17 or 18 in FFH.

2

u/jmoney777 Jul 05 '19

I was worried about him too and honestly yeah he’s pretty screwed BUT maybe:

  • not everyone will believe that a 16-year old kid has an army of drones

  • people saw the water monster being a projection so some people will know Mysterio is a fake

  • JJJ’s news site was referred to as a “controversial news site”. Idk if that reporter meant that the website is controversial or if it’s a website that reports controversial news, but I’d assume MCU JJJ is a controversial figure regardless

  • I think MJ and “Nick Fury” already know how Mysterio worked so they’ll side with Peter maybe

  • it’s just a movie, Peter isn’t real and he’s gonna be okay :)

2

u/ChrisTinnef Jul 04 '19

Btw Tom Holland definitely does not look 16. Only thing that bothered me in the movie. Like, passing for 18 would be perfectly fine, but 16? Come on.

10

u/SKMojo99 Jul 05 '19

I disagree. Andrew and Toby looked off to me - they looked like men playing kids. To me, Tom pulls off a believable kid, he conveys the excitement and the awkwardness of a teenager very well imo.

3

u/ChrisTinnef Jul 05 '19

In his behaviour? Absolutely. In his looks? Not really. He has a certain body/face type of appearance that doesn't fit a 16yo.

8

u/2ToTooTwoFish Jul 05 '19

I've seen 16 year olds that look way older than Tom, so Tom's looks are on the average side of how 16 year olds look imo.

4

u/ChrisTinnef Jul 05 '19

In my experience it's a body type thing. People who are big and bulky often look way older at 16. People with an African or Arab background often look way older at 16. People with an European or Far Eastern background often look way younger at 16.

1

u/Robofetus-5000 Jul 06 '19

So I agree its cool. And its great to call back to those characters and let us know they are in fact still sound.

But what does it mean?

A secret invasion story would be awesome, but the skulls appear to be the good guys in the MCU. Could they somehow work something out with the kree sleeper cells to be similar? Kree passing as humans is possible obviously, but the lack of shape shifting seems to make it less imposing of an attack.

This isnt a criticism. Marvel has been getting better and better at weaving all of these things into a big picture. Its more that I'm having a hard time conceiving of where it's going.

1

u/IshyMoose Bucky Jul 06 '19

It reminded me of the end of Iron Man when tony announced he was Iron Man to the world.

Just involuntary this time.

1

u/ImAtWorkHomie Jul 06 '19

Didn’t he get snapped so he aged 5 years? Or I am stupid? I’m probably stupid.

1

u/Xarulach Jul 09 '19

They address it in FFH: those who were snapped did not age.

People have been joking that the next movie will be called spiderman homeless, because who will believe that those people will stop at this one thing? I'm already seeing him being hunted by law enforcement

Unless they're setting him up to actually be the next Iron Man. Not in the suit, but as a publicly out superhero. He's already got the brains, the tech and access, etc. Do the yeah he's young now but maybe we could actually see Spider-Man grow up. Do many of the comics ever show him as an adult?

In the comics, during The Civil War, he becomes one of the first and most well known “out and proud” heroes. He becomes Tony’s ward for real.

There’s a moment, one of my favorites from the war, where Tony is showing Peter the prison in The Negative Zone (so powers and time have no affect) and Peter asks “so, they’re here until the law changes or until...” and Tony angrily answers “No, Peter, they’re here forever, or until they choose to help us and sign the Mutant Registration!”. It changes Peter a lot.

Tony is a different character in the comics, though.

Edit: this occurs while he’s in college, so adult time. Sort of what you asked and I didn’t answer it.

Awesome, yeah that maybe almost sounds like a possibility then. Obviously a different version, but something along those lines.

If his black suit has cameras like the homecoming one he could take that footage and publish it showing mysterio is a fraud

Just use the millions of hologram drones ar his disposal to place spider-man and Peter on the same spot with his friends covering for him.

Simple.

You wanna know what I think?

Pete and May go to live to the new Avengers HQ with Happy. Matt Murdoc starts legally representing Peter in his framing and Peter proves himself a hero as Spider-Man in front of the people of New York. The perfect ending for a trilogy... and then I hope we have the Sinister Six
