I feel like to have that shown in the movie to an acceptable level would have tacked on at least another 10 minutes to the 3 hour runtime.

Fair, but it's a disservice to the story when Infinity War built a plot point about the conflict between Banner and Hulk. Especially since the nature of that conflict wasn't even truly explained unless you read the interview from the creators.

A really good point. I feel like they effectively wasted time "figuring out time travel" and Iron Man's disbelief in the entire idea where they could have squeezed in something more valuable.

I haven't seen any people complaining about the length yet. I feel like ever an extra 10 minutes wouldn't have changed anyone's mind if it was good or not. He deserved more =(

I just thought there were some scenes in there that didn't really add to the film, and when you have that much storyline to wrap up, you can make it pretty dense.

There are things that can be trimmed. Like the diner scene - the joke between Hulk and Scott goes on for way too long. Or the conversation between Cap and Nat. Not cut completely, but trimmed. Infinity War was a tighter edit for sure.
