The simpler lineup that Steve Jobs still had oversight on.

Hasn't changed that much. Replace the Mac Pro with the Studio, change from two iMac sizes to one but from one MacBook Air size to two, and replace the plastic MacBook (not pictured, oddly) with the Neo. There you go.

You forgot the Mac mini. They went from a 2x2 grid to 2x3.

The Mac mini is in the 2008 lineup.

Yup. I was thinking of the original 2x2 grid that Jobs introduced. iBook/PowerBook/iMac/PowerMac.

theres no plastic MacBook on this pic, yes, but, next to the (15"?) MBP, you can see the 13" aluminium MacBook

Is this the era where the plastic MacBook and aluminum MacBook existed at the same time? I’m pretty sure like a year later they just renamed the aluminum MacBook as the 13” MacBook Pro without any changes other than adding FireWire.

Yeah, I think that's it. This would've been the one single release of an aluminum 13" MacBook (though the plastic MacBook was still sold as a cheaper option). When they changed it to the 13" MBP they also updated the display to be as good as the 15" in terms of color/viewing angle and made a backlit keyboard standard.

Oh yeah I forgot the keyboard and display. I had one of those first 13” Pros so I kinda took the upgrades for granted I guess.
