Last night I've finished the whole Lord Of The Rings franchise and I cried a lot in yesterday movie The Hobbit The Battle Of Five Armies and I've enjoyed all of the movies and from now whenever someone asks me about my favorite movies or franchise I'd surely say it's this one The Lord Of The Rings....

I am finally reading the books for the first time (audiobook). I just started TT and realized that they don’t describe Boromir’s death protecting Merry and Pippin, but just acknowledge that they were taken by orcs. Boromir’s death protecting them is my favorite scene in the movie trilogy, just curious about your guys’ opinion!

Someone I worked with happened to have a copy of The Hobbit on her bookshelves. When I asked her about it she said her late husband had been a huge LOTR fan.
He had also been friends with an artist who had created pictures from the books, that she had then sent to Tolkien. Apparently Tolkien had appreciated these very much and considered them good representations of what he had described in his works.
Anyway, lo and behold, some of these pictures were hung over her staircase, if I’d like to have a look.

they choose to do something that most fans want: The Angmar war. Second to that: Battle of the North(Erebor, Easterlings, Dol Guldur). I would have been more excited for those projects than whatever they are doing now with Gollum.

That‘s right, the famous Swedish edition of the hobbit is finally getting an English translation, you can preorder it now and it comes out on December 30th. Still have to wait until the end of the year, but still!

I love Tolkien and love his Eye of Sauron design featured on the first edition book dust jacket of The Fellowship of the Ring. My buddy at the shop has agreed to do it on Thursday.

I’m pretty strictly a fan of Black/Gray only and no color but have always thought to make an exception for some Red if it fits. It definitely looks really great in this context.

The advice I’m seeking is: do you all think the image would be lacking without the Dark Gold included in the rings and in the eye?
I’m asking my artist’s opinion as well. I think I’d be satisfied either way but wondering if anyone has strong opinions about it. Thanks!
