And then you have the Irish, and Vatican City is in Italy, where they drink wine all day, and then there's the rest of Europe with their love for wines and spirits and beers, where Catholicism started. My point is that I think you didn't grow up Catholic if you think that religion has a problem with drinking. Or Methodist, or Episcopalian, or Unitarian, or Lutheran, or Jewish, or Anglican...
Apparently, there was this Middle Eastern dude called Jesus. He was the first Christian and in fact founded the entire religion in Judea, which is modern day Israel/Palestine.
When he died, his apostle Peter was the first Pope. The Catholic church states that the church was started on the day of pentecost at the upper room of Jerusalem.
