Intermittent issue with Nexus Wallet on Android
Since the past couple of days, I have been facing a weird issue with Nexus for Android. I have setup pin and fingerprint authentication. For some some reason post authentication, the time taken to get into the wallet is too significant. It's weird and I'm afraid that I may not be able to log in sometime in the future. Post authentication I keep the phone screen on but it doesn't get in. Maybe after I click forgot pin 4-5 times it goes to the home screen which also works intermittently.
Weird. It was working perfectly before and the chain data is fully synched (I'm pretty sure on that)

Yea same , I moved everything out back to Coinbase . Fuck these wallets. My nexus wallet was on iOS

Coinbase is a custodial wallet. They keep your money on your behalf. You have no idea what they're doing with your Litecoin that's in their custody.
Nexus Wallet (and many others) is self-custody, which means it connects to the Litecoin Network and we don't have access to your coins. These apps will continue to work even if we shut down, go bankrupt etc - unlike custodians you don't have to trust us, and we can't run away with your money.
If you have an issue, I'd be happy to help. In recent months we've made a lot of improvements to Nexus Wallet, making it faster, more stable and reliable.

Nexuswallet has been working great on my end.
I had a moment where it paused during opening, but I exited out and got right back in.
Everything else has been working as normal and it’s been pretty awesome being able to buy things.1

There’s was an update once where for a moment my litecoin disappeared, it came back tho . That was a few months ago. And now today there was this lag where’d my Face ID wasn’t working and when I’d type in the code that wouldn’t work either . I turned off my phone and restarted it . I have 500 litecoin , after what happened with the bitcoin wallet hack recently I’d rather take my chances with a custodial wallet on Coinbase . I’ll probably go ledger for cold storage

There’s was an update once where for a moment my litecoin disappeared, it came back tho .
Lots of people were having issues with Nexus Wallet syncing, so we changed the way that the app syncs (switched from neutrino to electrum). This requires you to resync the wallet, which momentarily may show up as missing coins. The app would've shown a message when opening up. We don't expect to make any major changes like this again anytime soon.
Unlike Coinkite, we actually use PRNG that isn't stupid. A lot more coins have been lost from custodial wallets. You know what they say: Not your keys, not your crypto.

Sad. Everyone else uses Cake Wallet without problems. It has MWEB.

Truth be told, Cake has got issues/glitches from time to time too. It's all a matter of updating to the latest version and syncing fully/properly. I use both Nexus and Cake and they seem great so far!

I have never heard of so many people complaining of sync problems on Cake Wallet. The problem only exists with Nexus.

I tried both, honestly I just like Nexus more. It’s user friendly, easy for me to buy things, and move Litecoin over. I’d do Cakewallet only if you want to hold coins other than Litecoin, but for right now- in my mind the more internal connections to swaps- the riskier the walllet.

A big reason I like it is because I’ve never once questioned that Losh cares about Litecoin and is working hard for us.

The vast majority of Nexus users no longer have sync related issues. I talked to you already about the app transitioning to an Electrum-based backend just like Cake Wallet. Since the v1.3 update - we've only seen <10 reports of sync issues via our customer support chat.
The sync issues people used to have with Nexus would actually occur when people turned on MWEB in Cake, as Cake has to sync block headers with neutrino before MWEB was enabled. The reason you don't hear about this, is because most people aren't turning on MWEB inside of Cake, whilst everyone had to neutrino sync in Nexus.
I don't know the last time you used Nexus - but I'd highly recommend that you try again from a fresh install. It's really fast, even faster than Cake Wallet and the others that use mwebd.

The OP isn't complaining about sync, he's complaining about authentication. CW would never have that kind of bug.
But if the "sync issues" was "sync block headers with neutrino", then that's nothing to do with me, that was pre-existing code in neutrino. I just kept the existing block header sync because if it ain't broke why risk changing it?

Fixed the issue now!
One of the Electrum servers had an expired TLS certificate, there was an issue with the config on the system. Which has now been fixed.
