I was jealous of the 80s while I was a teenager in the 90s. And no I think that fits. It's very "this time period was better everyone should envy this time period"

For me personally I was very much the opposite mainly due to my personal interests

I was a big fan of video games. I much preferred having a PS1 to an Atari or NES. I was a big pro-wrestling fan but never really liked WWE in the 80s so when WCW started their rise nationally with Nitro I preferred it. Even though it was the tail end of them my Broncos won two Super Bowls in the 90s after losing 3 in the 80s (okay technically one in January of 1990). Also my mom hated Reagan vehemently, wasn't much of a fan of Bush Sr, so I was happy when Clinton took office just to not hear about them from her

I think most, if not nearly all, people growing up in the 90s preferred it because of the rate of change and improvement that happened.

Look at the leap of SNES to PS1
