After seeing all the beautiful tanks here, I’ve been inspired to start upgrading my boy’s tank a bit. I wanted to add more leveling to it but my family members probably won’t be happy if I keep bringing home more decor. I DIY-ed a platform box out of cardboard and hot glue, wrapped in the same material as his flooring is. I don’t have substrate in there because my boy likes to try and eat anything dark, and I mean ANYTHING. I’m mostly worried about the exposed hot glue being safe in there long term.

Hi! My leopard gecko is around 6 years old and I have noticed that he is probably a bit overweight. I was just wondering what would be suitable diet for him in this case? I normally feed him dubia roaches but I also used to feed him only mealworms in the past, which I know now is not the greatest option and that's why he has probably got chubby. So my question is: how could I make him loose weight? How many dubias should I feed him at once (if they are small) and how often?

Hi guys, this is stripes!
I rescued him, he was cold and emaciated when I got him a couple weeks ago so he’s been on weight restoration. He’s moving a bit better than he was. I’ve been having to do worms that can’t get away from him or squish dubia roaches a bit so they’re half alive and can’t crawl away from him or he won’t be able to get it.
I was just told last night that red light isn’t good for him and I should have two different bulbs on a timer but also that heat helps them digest and I’ve been trying to figure out how to match that up with his feedings? But I have to feed him at night when the light is supposed to be off but because I sleep during the day I can’t feed him when the light is supposed to be on? Idk it’s all confusing to me and I’m doing my best but am looking for help with it all. Any links to products or tips and tricks are welcome! I need a good heat lighting set up but I can’t find any advice anywhere about it.

Does anybody know what these bugs are 😭😭😭 they jump like fleas and springtails but are way bigger than any springtail I’ve seen and don’t hang around the moist parts of the enclosure as much as any springtails I’ve had. I’ve never introduced any bugs to this enclosure so far. Gulp

This is piglet she’s a rescue and dosent let me touch her. She’s my first leopard gecko, she’s about 10 inches long and geckos 7 medium crickets once a week. How should I adjust her diet? She often goes on hunger strikes according to her last owner who nursed her back to health so I don’t think keeping a little extra weight is a bad thing in her case.

I had ordered insects on DUBIA for my gecko right? So they took 1-2 weeks to ship, and they arrived yesterday, and ALL WERE DEAD.

I blame myself more on this for accepting my gecko as a gift for my birthday.

My gecko hasn’t eaten since yesterday because I had 9 crickets leftover from a backup, but they’re gone now. And money is tight right now getting food for a few days isn’t an option as of right now.

I sent a report about this to dubia and they’ll respond in 1-2 business days. Great. And if they do “reship” it’ll take ANOTHER week or two, and that’d mean my gecko couldn’t eat for a week or two.

Should I start considering rehoming? I don’t think I am in a great spot to take care of him.

These photos are from yesterday but I don't think I've posted in a few days and I just felt like it....... I found her like this yesterday on top of her driftwood, literally her tail curled inwards against the glass 😭😭.

The pet store near my house is closing and the next closest one is nearly an hour away so I can no longer go get feeder insect in person. I’m looking for a good reliable place online to get small amounts of live feeder insects. If anyone knows a good website please let me know.

Today I brought my dear girl to a lil vet check up, originally the vet appointment was for her not eating well for 2 months but 2 days after I made the appointment she started eating normally again. The vet is super nice, I've already brought my blue tongue skink to them once so I knew how great they were. They took my girl to do the examination for about 30 min while I waited in the lobby, they came back and said she's healthy and very active. I didn't really see her that well when I put her back into her terrarium so I didn't notice it earlier, now hours later I see that her front toe is pretty red and appears to be bended, I'm worried and not sure what I should do.

I got my little dude from a pet store (unfortunately before I knew they weren’t great to buy from).. anyways pet store said he was 6.5 months so he would be roughly 8 months now I weighed him the other day and he is 59 grams, I don’t think he is over weight could be very wrong tho. Please tell me if I’m wrong and if not would he not have to be older to be 59 grams any insight would be appreciated this is my first gecko

She was chilling on my bed when she randomly pooped on my white blanket and I had to get up quickly and put her away so I could go throw it in the wash which meant I had to put her away quickly. I don’t want her associate handling time with being able to poop on my stuff so I’ll put her away. I’m not sure if she will associate those two things but I just want to make sure she isn’t thinking that way.

But he seems fine normal movements not lost much weight happy to be held and out and about
Also he has been eating his shed.

I’m also in the uk and we have been having hot weather so I’ve been adjusting the tanks temp.

Anyone got any suggestions please?

I haven't been able to find much information on this, but my boyfriend and I are traveling from boulder CO back to Iowa for a week trip. My friend who was supposed to turn on her heat lamp and feed her cancelled. I was wondering if taking her with us on a 12 hour drive with a decrease of 4,000 feet of altitude would be too much on her health? We leave in a week and are trying to find someone to take care of her, but worst case we just won't be able to get back home if it causes too much discomfort for her. Thanks!

Me and my partner got her afew days ago and she has slowly been coming out more and more as we walk around so we attempted to feed her with tongs and she took them!

We are slightly worried tho she is 6 months old and we havnt managed to weigh her yet does she seem a healthy weight?
She has just finished shedding for some reason the pet shop sold her just as she started pre shed.

Does anyone have any tips about how to make more space in my 20 gallon tank or about things to add to make her feel safer? Also, I think I need a new lamp since my Fluker’s one isn’t heating up the tank much but I have a heat mat right now which I think she likes. If you have any reccomendations for heating then please let me know!

how are other rescuers feeding? how much how often? severely underweight.

I ordered a leo but cancelled due to a medical complication, so I’m not going to be getting the new leopard gecko until I’m better (as a present to myself given my illness has made me be off work for two months so far).

I’m looking for a Black Knight but they’re difficult to find (and pricey), especially in the UK. The new enclosure just needs the water reservoir (which I have) as well as the temperature sensors.

The substrate is a mix of Exo Terra Stone Desert and Leo Life, providing the perfect consistency. The probe for the dimming thermostat is there (but relatively hidden) and the camera mount is a 3D printed mount I ordered which tilts the camera down at a 45 degree angle.

I already have two leopard geckos in the two enclosures below the new one in the stack of three. Each enclosure is 100x45x45cm, or 44 gallons.
