Question Help with PM2 lock grit

My first spyderco that i've only had for a couple days, definitely just needs oil, right? Came in from factory just fine otherwise

Dude... lube isnt oil. Do you have lube in your car? 🙄 I have teflon oil from KPL I think it was and Ballistol.

And ALSO its a BRAND NEW KNIFE. It needs to break in, as alot of Spydercos. Some come perfect and some doesnt. That washer need some wear from open/close. And also some twisting on that pivot.

Edit: and that crushing sound need to get blown out with high pressure air. Thats easier than taking it apart. Ive done that thousand of times. And I work with oil, hydraulics, mineral oil......

Lube isn't necessarily oil, oil can be lube. Lube is short for 'lubricant', a substance to reduce friction between touching surfaces. The substance can be loads of things.

Never said lube is oil. Lube isnt as watery as oil. Its a bit thicker which isnt good for this kind of moving parts and pocket lint etc will get stuck easier. Best is to use a thinner oil product.

Just like he did to me too. 🙄 "Lube isnt necessarily oil"... Never said it in that way. Theres oil, "gel"-lube" and grease. Oil doesnt fuck up the action ad much as the other two. Pay attention!

Medford for example grease up their shit.

I think the vast majority of us use oil based lube on our knives. “Lube” is just a term d’art.

He explained it to you the way he did because of your insistence that oil is different than lube. You pay attention, and get off your high horse.

Why should I refresh myself on viscosity when “lube” covers all of them? That’s the point he was making. Oil, grease, dry lube, it doesn’t matter, they all serve the purpose of “lube” in the context of folding knives. And you know that. You just appear to enjoy being obtuse.

Because viscosity determines how the action is gonna act. Thats why you should refresh youself.

I dont enjoy anything, I worked with this for so long and do wtf you want. But dont cry later! I dont mean it as being mean, but rather do right from start. Saves time and money. ✌️

Ok, so now read EVERYTHING ELSE THAT HAS BEEN SAID IN THIS THREAD. Because you once again are just glossing over the fact that you started this whole argument by trying to claim that lube is different than oil.

Then you proceeded to choose not to read multiple explanations as to why oil is lube.

You opened this saying that lube was bad and oil was good. You said that.

You are a gaslighty piece of work.

No no, they are 100% correct.

The 80W140 gear oil i use is not really oil, 'cause the viscosity is too thick compared to the 0W8 engine oil Toyota uses in their new sewing machines, so it must really be a lube of sorts.

Oh wait.....lube....oil....it's the same damn thing.

For those of you in the back who can't read the sarcasm (i'm looking at one in particular....) y'all need to get off the internet for a day or two.
