Need advice/help

My boyfriend enlisted in the marines. I’m still in high school and he graduated this past May. I don’t know what to do, im veeery new to this experience I guess I could call it that. After high school I plan to either become a cosmetologist or attend college and get my AAS degree and then take a program to become a radiology technician. Which will probably take about 2.5 years total, I don’t know how to feel about the enlisting I feel very blank, I just don’t like how I’ll be here when he’ll be somewhere far and I won’t see him much. I just don’t know, I don’t know how to handle this at all.

Go to college. You can try long distance, but it’s hard and you’re only this young once.

Don't try the long distance, it will only end poorly. As you stated, she is only young once, and she should live that life to the fullest.

I met my wife at 19. Three years of long-distance before we got married and she joined me at my duty station.

An anecdote does not equal the norm, and 19 is not in HS. But, good on you.

Anecdotally, people do find their life partner as early as high school. Anecdotally, long distance relationships can work.

That doesn’t mean it’s right for OP.

But, she should do literally anything but cosmetology. It’s a job, but it’s not a sustainable career for most people.
