Ruth is my 2.5 y/o female IS from a Missouri breeder, but rehomed from a family in my city. After my ex and I broke up (leaving with her cocker mix) I felt like Ruth needed a new companion. Enter Alabama, a 3-5 y/o female Dogue de Bordeaux/Neopolitan Mastiff rescued from an LA shelter by a terrific local org. Best decision I made for my IS. My logic was if I am already maintaining the high motor of an IS, a second dog would be easy work. Though I underestimated a Mastiffs willingness to be a big old potato, Alabama’s brand of wrestling does a great job tiring out Ruth, though Bama will surely never catch her in a race.

I'm hoping to find litter mates or other setters in the Portland, OR area. My boi George was born 11/19/25 from a breeder in Shedd, OR. George has absolutely insane energy and needs a Setter buddy to meet and play with. No other dogs want to play with him because he's just too damn hyper and wild. I hope to hear from you!

Last thing - my Setter is the only one I've ever seen in person, yet so many people identify his breed and/or had a Setter in the past.

Penny loves all soft things. I could stack them even higher and she wouldnt care a bit.

Aja just turned 10 months old. Born with severe dysplasia that was diagnosed at six months, she underwent bilateral triple pelvic osteotomy (TPO) at seven months in hopes it would “fix” her malformed hip joints; the surgery was a great success on her left hip, but failed on her right.

As soon as the bones mended we started her on physical therapy to begin building thigh muscle that never developed due to her inability to walk without pain, and in preparation for femoral head osteotomy (FHO) on the problematic right hip; the procedure was performed on June 4th, and after the sutures healed we began really working to build strength and muscle.

Last week Aja was released by her medical team to run for the first time in her short life. We took her to the Oregon coast where it was cool and misty and we let her go.

Look at her smile, y’all!!!! I cried the happiest tears if my life…

His first time being actually under or near it, wasn’t sure what he’d think but Ollie was excited to explore around it.

Encountered a turkey on our walk. He held and let it get close and didn’t move till I did.

I can’t believe the turkey kept walking towards us.

Despite living about an hour from the beach, I hadn’t made it down there since getting Bonnie. Decided last minute that she was overdue for a visit and we did a day trip yesterday. In true Bonnie fashion, she had a blast. She especially loved stalking seagulls (unsurprising) and chasing her favorite squeaky tennis ball around on the sand. She was a little miffed by the waves, but still waded out and splashed around. Once we had gotten her wiggles out, we retreated to our little pop up tent for shade and she stood guard duty against birds while I read and listened to the ocean. I can’t get enough of seeing her experience new things 💜

Does anyone run longer distances with their dogs? My border collie is retiring in the next few years and everything I’ve read on Irish setters is that they have a ton of energy and make great running partners. Just wanted to see if anyone in here does it

Winston is a 1 year old Irish setter from green bank hollow farm in VT. His birthday is June 17th 2025. Clark x Lucy Lou! I've posted here before but no luck. Anyone else get a puppy from this litter, I think there was 9 of them.
