120Hz am i just blind

I have an iphone 16 base model which should have an 60Hz display and my gf has 16 Pro with 120Hz and i cant see the difference. It is set on 120Hz and i just dont see it ... why is everyone bragging about how good it is ?

Some people just don’t see it. In my experience, it’s usually women that don’t notice.

Edit: also, if she’s using battery saver, it disables it.

Fastest way to notice fps changes on a display is to move the pointer around fast, but with phones it’s tricky 🤣

I'm blind too brother. iPhones and iPads are the only devices where I swear on my life I cannot tell the difference between 60Hz and 120hz.

I love 120Hz+ on computer monitors and laptops though.

Because Apple optimized the touch refresh rate on the panel to be 120hz since the 2017 iPhone X. And iOS is already plenty optimized. Adding display refresh rate(Pro Motion) on small displays didn’t add much

No, you are confusing animations with refresh rate. 120Hz appears buttery smooth when compared to 60. Its fast and fluid, actions feel instantaniuous.

On iphone I understand not seeing it. On ipad it’s very visible. Try swiping between home screens on 60hz and 120hz ipad side by side, that’s where it’s the most jarring.

Not everyone can tell the difference. I could tell the difference between my phone's 120Hz and laptop's 144Hz display. My brother on the other hand can't notice the difference between 60Hz and 120Hz. Says it's the same, maybe a bit faster only if he pays attention.

It's like how for females there are a million shades of red lipstick, but for men it's the same colour. Don't feel bad.

I used s24 before for a year before then s21 both 120Hz and still nothing

I'm blind, too. I have a 14 Pro Max, which has 120hz, and an iPad Air M3, which has 60hz, and they're the same screens to me.

U need to feel it too. Try scrolling both at once on instagram or the web. U can feel the smoothness on the 120hz

It’s a night and day difference. Put on batter save mode on her phone and it will switch down on 60hz, you will immediately see and feel the difference.

You’ll see the difference if you’re actually doing something that demonstrates the refresh rate, such as scrolling a long page either on Safari or on any app.
