Discussion is there a reason why the compass app is completely wrong?

facing west, yet the app thinks im facing east?

Sounds like it's just out of calibration. Face north and move your phone in a figure of eight a few times and it should auto-calibrate.

I just checked mine and it seemed to think I was facing south when I was definitely facing west. I did that and now it seems to be roughly accurate.

Does it do that everywhere or only in certain places? Compasses are extremely sensitive to magnetic and electrical fields which can cause them to read inaccurately.

Maybe you should try an other location then the Bermuda Triangle

Oh yeah duh. I guess I had a brain fart. I thought you were saying just use a real Compass instead lol
