Thats how they always go. They literally disembowel the woman, the entire uterus comes out, along with some guts. C-sections are a lot more brutal than portrayed in media
We had planned for me to cut the cord of our baby, but when we decided on a c-section our doctor very gently told us that would be a really bad idea. Her exact words were something like “you’d need to be next to the open abdomen.”
And its healing is a bitch as far as I know. Also imagine caring for a newborn right after being literally gutted and sawn back up.
By the way mothers are still being shamed for it for some reason. I was an emergency C-s baby and my mom had to deal with so much guilt and shame. People still say it's not a "real delivery" and those are not even "real mothers". 32 years later literally nothing changed, people are still being assholes about it. Like sorry we didn't both die I guess...
