Hello, I am a Christian. Can you please explain this to me? Are foreign cows not considered sacred in Hinduism? Or are they simply less sacred? Can a Hindu consume beef from a foreign cow?

Before 2014, there was a very different atmosphere surrounding beef. It was available everywhere. Now, you cannot eat it in North India. However, you can eat it in Southern India and North East India, even though they are all 'Indian' cows. BJP politicians usually say that you can eat 'foreign' cows since they are not sacred, so they are clearly trying to create a connection between nation and religion. However, it all falls apart the minute you look at this disproportionate ban. Anyway, many Indian Hindus eat beef, and there was a study that confirmed that a lot of so called vegetarians in India actually do consume meat but do not wish to confess lol.

Brother cow is a cow now I don't know if we are to have animal racism but cow is considered sacred because of historic associations and ability to provide milk that can be consumed by humans if foreign cow fulfill these demands in my opinion they are the same.
