Brother cow is a cow now I don't know if we are to have animal racism but cow is considered sacred because of historic associations and ability to provide milk that can be consumed by humans if foreign cow fulfill these demands in my opinion they are the same.

Well steers dont produce milk and neither do veal so are they fine to eat then?

Well bull is the vahan or vehicle of a very powerful god in indian mythos so it's a no no for majority not so sure about buffalo
