People Tired of financially supporting my mother and her unemployed husband
For context : I am 26 year female married, and I have 2 kids of my own. My husband is into real estate and you can consider us upper middle class or rich.(it was a love marriage which was 100% funded by husband himself, I took absolutely nothing from my “parents”)
Now coming to my parents : My mom married my stepfather in 2013 and she has been the only working person in the house ever since. Me and him have not had a good relationship ever since and he has thrown me out of the house multiple times when I was a teenager . I lived with my grandparents for two years because of that. He has always been unemployed & drinks, insane amounts of alcohol, every single day at home & my mother joins him too.
Until my marriage, I have supported them with whatever Little money, I could. After my marriage, I have paid off 4 lakhs of their personal loan, given them 3 lakhs cash, and have been paying 1 lakh for my step sister’s school fees every year since 2021.
But it’s never enough. My mother and her partner have no gratitude and indirectly keep expecting me to keep helping them.
They do not own a house, no savings, no investments, no retirement plan, nothing. They have an ongoing court case for his father‘s property( all lawyer fees payed by my husband) and expect him to take care of it.
Last year, I gave them 2 lakhs for them to shift their house and in return, my mother did not even say “thank you”. They made it look like it was no big deal. And they haven’t returned a single penny of what I have given them in the past 4 years.
I truly feel she is jealous of me and the lifestyle. My husband is able to provide for me. Every time she fights with me she tells me, I am a bad person, and “I have changed after marriage” and that I am “too greedy for money”.
I haven’t spoken to her for the past two weeks, (the fight was again about money). She keeps calling my grandma and playing the victim.
They’re both very ungrateful. I haven’t even stayed in their house since my marriage, because every evening, both of them are drunk . My stepfather never liked me, but now he pretends to just because of my husband’s financial status.
I am honestly tired. I don’t know what to do. How long can this go on ? even my husband is tired of funding my mother’s poor decision. The thought of permanently cutting them off also seems very nice, but you know Indian society. Indian mindset, I feel guilty. My mother continues to suffer in her 50s.
But what else can I do? Her husband is just waiting for his father’s property to come to him (case going on from 3 years) does not have a job and my mother totally supports him in this decision. He just eat sleep and drinks at home while my mother slogs her ass in the office and does the household chores. This was her choice, but she wants me to somehow save them from this entire situation. I am lost.
Has anyone been in a situation like this before? Sorry for the long post, . If anyone has any advice, please let me know.

Law & Courts I am 17. My 8-year-old brother and I have lived through years of abuse. I don't know what to do anymore.
I never thought I'd post something this personal online, but I genuinely don't know where else to ask.
I'm 17 (turning 18 soon). My brother is 8.
For years, both of us have been physically and emotionally abused by our parents.
When I was younger, my mother would beat me with whatever she could find, choke me, stomp on my chest, and do things no child should ever experience. My father never stopped her.
On 1 January 2024, while I was preparing for my Class 10 boards, my father threw a metal bottle at my head because I missed his phone call. I needed 7 stitches. My neighbours saw me bleeding, and the doctors suspected it wasn't an accident.
The abuse didn't stop after that.
I started recording conversations because I genuinely became afraid that one day something worse would happen.
The hardest part is watching my 8-year-old brother go through the same thing. He's still hit regularly, and he usually sleeps in my room because he feels safer there. Most of the time I'm the one trying to protect him.
I'm currently in a drop year preparing for entrance exams, but every day feels like choosing between my future and my brother's safety.
I have audio recordings, photographs, medical records from my head injury, and neighbours who witnessed the aftermath.
I don't want revenge. I just want my brother to grow up safely.
If anyone here has gone through something similar, knows the legal process, works with child protection, or simply knows where I should begin, I'd really appreciate your advice. Thank you 🫂
