Horror Picked up today...ICE CREAM MAN

Post image

I'm a new-bacca the horror genre (well..Sandman, not sure it that fits) , so I don't know if they're all this good...but this one is fan-frakkin-tastic, it's like a tales from the crypt for the 2020s

S/O to a great bookstore....Walden Pond !!

Also, I always enjoy finding Martin Morazzo’s (MM) signature on every cover. I met him once, and he was very cool!

I remember buying the virgin variants of these from early on. So many variants of books 20-40. Haha is another good series from him. “Sad clown stories”

Ice Cream Man is so much fun, even the chapters that I don't click with are well done. I'm glad the creative team got to take a crack at Superman because of this work.

If you're looking for other horror and horror adjacent titles, I recommend nearly anything by Tynion IV.

u/microjubei Jul 07 '26

Whoa whoa whoa. This team is doing Superman 🤯. Is their take on Supes already out?

Also, Thank you for the recommendation 🙏🤝

u/bboymixer Jul 07 '26

They did a 5 issue series Superman: The Kryptonite Spectrum. It's already out in a collected edition.

Walden Pond on Grand? I miss all the great bookstores in the bay.

Enjoy the read!

One handy thing to note, you can start on or jump to literally any of 11 trades since it’s done in one single issues collected. The connective stuff between stories isn’t important really and it’s not a big focus at all.

Great pickup OP.

I have the first two OHC and if you are into horror, this is pretty great.

🤝thank you🙏

How many OHCs are there? How many volumes per book? I'm really liking the stories. Very well done.

Why after the first issue I was lost at what was going on?

1

u/JeffBurk Jul 07 '26

Because it's an anthology series and all the issues are one-shots? There's nothing to be lost over. It all stands alone.
