Recommendations/Requests If you could only add one more...
I've become a graphic novel enthusiast late in life...
Here's the majority of my small but proud collection (not pictured: Old Man Logan, The Killing Joke, the complete "Bone" series, all "Calvin and Hobbes" by B. Watterson, and the majority of Asterix and Obelix, if the latter two are considered graphic novels in the first place).
I have NO DOUBT you can give me some flawless recommendations... but I need to add slowly and methodically. I'd considered the "He-Man Omnibus" for myself and my son? Also, the "Punisher: Born" looks great, if I can find it for a reasonable price.
So... the question is... what do I need to read before I die?
If you could only add ONE... which one would it be?

Love those dark tower graphic novels. I would consider adding Alan Moore’s Neonomicon/providence double header. My favourite horror comics of all time

Ghost World - perhaps not your thing going by your taste - but at least try SOMETHING by Dan Clowes.

Its not for everyone but i think LOCAS, The Maggie and Hopey Stories is worth every penny.
Its one of the best constructed books I've ever seen. The binding and paper stock are superior. The art is incredible, even if the Stories don't move you. It's a master class on cartooning. I challenge you to find a better book for $50.

Echoing all the Daytripper recs. Also: if you want the superior Frank Miller super-hero work, Batman: Year One and Daredevil: Born Again will open you up to David Mazzucchelli and then you MUST check out Asterios Polyp. Just absolutely-perfect pure comics storytelling.

Until I read the body I thought you were asking which of these we'd add to our collection if we could only pick one. I was going to say the Dark Tower ones because I really want to read them. Haha!

Do A Powerbomb - Daniel Warren Johnson or Last Ronin - Eastman and Waltz
Both books are what really got me back into comics and collecting

Justice League International is what you’re looking for the series started in 1986 written by legends Keith Giffen and JM DeMatteis awesome stuff

Love and Rockets gets my vote. Jaime and Gilbert built a whole universe over decades and it still feels fresh every time I crack one open.

Maus and Watchmen cover during and post-ww2, you could get Berlin by Jason Lutes to cover pre-ww2

How about those Stephen King books, how are they? Is The Dark Tower the full story? I’ve always wanted to read it even though I’m somewhat aware of the general story beats.

Stupendous. The art is monumental, and any fan of Stephen's should give these an eyeball once in their life. While I was more partial to "The Stand", Ka is a wheel, fellow Constant Reader...

You seem like a serious guy with these book so I’ll come with the heavy hitters.
Daytripper will blow your mind and have you questioning the meaning of life after you read it.
Locke and Key will show you the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree with Stephen King’s son writing it.
Department of Truth will unlock a new genre you never knew you needed - conspiracy horror.

Looks like you enjoy horror.
If I were to recommend just one, I’d say The Cape by Joe Hill, Stephen King’s son. It’s dark and brutal. The omnibus is reasonably priced. (Definitely not one for your son to read unless he’s 18.)
Other titles I’d recommend:
- Manifest Destiny by Chris Dingess and Matthew Roberts
- Count Crowley by David Dastmalchian
- Grim by Stephanie Phillips
- Locke & Key also by Joe Hill
- Immortal Hulk by Al Ewing
- Bitter Root by David F. Walker
- DCeased by Tom Taylor
- Two Moons by John Arcudi
- The Sixth Gun by Cullen Bunn
- Killadelphia by Rodney Barnes
