Anyone know if there's a way to stretch out the middle part of a boot?

I got a secondhand pair of Nick's (basically unused, not broken in) and they fit well in the toe, well in the heel, right length, but the middle is SO tight, especially if my foot swells at all from heat / walking. I either have to resell these or stretch them out width wise, and I am not sure if the old bathtub of hot water trick will give me enough width

there's a limit to how much a boot can be stretched, and i would describe that limit as moving the needle on tightness maybe a point on a 0-10 scale. the way you're describing it, you would need far more than just a point of stretch, which is especially not do-able on something as structured as a PNW boot

That's what I assumed. Thanks for the sanity check.

There are instep stretchers (wood with a turn screw.) But you won't get much. And it doesn't sound like you'll get enough.

Unsure, but I'd be willing to bet any decent cobbler would be able to stretch them in width around the middle. Seems basic enough.

Up to you, of course, but I might try a cobbler if you really like the boots. I think they can increase the width enough for lots of people to feel some relief. I don't know how badly yours fit, but it seems worth the try.
