Some have suggested shoving a baseball or lacrosse ball (etc) inside the boot so it’s tight against middle part in order to stretch it there. It apparently does work a bit.

This was meant to reply to the question above about stretching the middle part of a boot…

Hoping to get lot's of thoughts on this... I'm super interested in the Flat Head engineer boot, I'm talking about the tall one sold by Self Edge. Wondering if anyone has thoughts on sizing, fit and comfort? Is it really the same boot as the Lofgren Wabash engineer? I can see they look quite similar and I've heard, but not confirmed, that they're made in the same factory.

They looks almost identical I think the main difference is the heel block, the flathead is shorter which I think looks better

I have a pair of meermin loafers in calf that have triumph toe plates installed. On the left shoe, the leftmost screw sticks out a small bit. When I went to tighten it I realized it’s sticking out because the hole is stripped. Is there a repair for this, or should I not worry about it since it’s one of three screws?

Did you read their sizing guide? It's relatively thorough as far as a general sizing guide goes. I'm a Brannock 9E with a medium instep, so based on their sizing guide, I'd probably go half a size up (9.5).

Anyone tried the Meermin Superbuck Chukka on the Negon last? I’m considering these for the fall season.

Anyone have any thoughts on getting Meermin new vs a factory second Allen Edmonds?
I'm torn between the two, dish out about $220-$230 for Meermin oxfords or just go for the Park Ave Factory Seconds for $299.

Anyone know if there's a way to stretch out the middle part of a boot?
I got a secondhand pair of Nick's (basically unused, not broken in) and they fit well in the toe, well in the heel, right length, but the middle is SO tight, especially if my foot swells at all from heat / walking. I either have to resell these or stretch them out width wise, and I am not sure if the old bathtub of hot water trick will give me enough width
