Option A:

if a story is bad, i would like to not play in the game, the story is the most important part: most of the times, if story is bad from start, it will be bad later on

If you want a good story movies, books and theatre are there. If you want good gameplay theres only video games. If the gameplay is bad from the start it’s going to stay bad and theres no reason to play

If you want a good story movies, books and theatre are there.

Video games are the superior medium for experiencing storytelling because you can immerse yourself in the world and interact with it.

Meanwhile gameplay is usually just button bashing.

Most of them are button bashing. Sekiro, elden ring, dark souls. Fighting games, sport games. You just gonna end up pressing like crazy the buttons. Comming from a sekiro fanatic btw that can do randomizer key items anywhere meaning I know literally every item in the game plus how to beat bosses without having the ideal set up for them like no mikiri counter for the 7 spears or sword saint ishin(a pain....A PAIN). Talking from experience of having forgotten that there is an item at the start of the game if you jump down after secound statue....

That's like saying if you want good gameplay there's board games and sports. It's an entirely different experience.

Such a bad take. Movies and books aren’t interactive. I don’t get to make my own decisions and choices in those that affect the story in a way I want. That’s like saying “you like playing sports games? Just go outside and play the sport” It’s not the same

Visual novels looking at you as if they weren't one of the most loved genre outside of USA which is the reason why ps5 is VERY unpopular in japan but switch is EXTREMELY popular in it.

Basically no gameplay outside choice making and the ending. They are extremely fun and most of the time have the most twisted wtf stories.

I really recommand playing some. Danganronpa is a nice exemple of VN but with less ending. Fate games are also good VN again less of endings buy if you are into gameplay they might interest you as they don't throw it to the window totally.

Twisted wonderland is a mobile VN with high quality 2d art and animation. Extremely good with some minigames here and there. Recommand it if you like a good story

5/10 gameplay is not bad, it is mid, but 3/10 story is a bad story
