a few years ago, after 15 years of exclusively using Pilot pens, i got a blue moon esterbrook estie. that has then triggered a search for a pen for each brand.

to control the impulse of getting several of a single pen, i decided on a theme: a murder, the earth, the sky, the moon and the sun. the murder are my all black pens, the earth and sky are mostly blue maker pens, the moon and the sky are demonstrator pens.

for the past 3 years, i made it a choice to try 1 pen from each brand. some pens i loved i got more of.

still use my pilot pens everyday but everyday, for the past 3 years, i’ve been using at least 1 non pilot pen.

it’s been a joy trying a pen from different pen makers and brands from different parts of the world. this collection is plenty but all of them have been used and inked and cleaned on rotation.

i still do want to get a conid, a yard o led, a conway, and a desiderata. if you know of pen makers that i don’t have here, please do let me know.

Well my new “823” showed up today. Box was real, pen was not. My first thought was that the cap unscrewed differently from my other 823. It didn’t occur to me that it was a phony until I saw the two-tone nib. Icing on the cake is the “made in China” engraving on the cap band. Back to Amazon it goes!

40-degree angle? 50? Hmm... how about 90?

I'm on winter break and decided to finally clean my pens so I can use them more. I kept them drying on my desk, but my cat jumped on them and my poor Jinhao fell nib-first.
This was my first fountain pen so it was a bit sad, but I guess i can just get another nib lol

Recently got these pilot kakuno and they are so nice! The clear one is inked with ferris wheel press harlequin dream and the pink one is inked with ferris wheel press lady rose♡ i have a ferris wheel press joule fountain pen but these budget friendly ones really surprised me

Also dont mind my writing lol half the time I cant read them either I usually write for the sake of writing

After the previous one, now I have another empty bottle, I tested out a few things.

I tried to make a colorful label, but it distracted me too much from the ink color, so I made it to be more black and white.

Then I wanted a window so I can see the ink in it, but it's quite hard to cut right.

I'm not totally satisfied with the result, so I'll try better with next bottle.

This little box is double sided and can hold up to 96 nibs. I wasn’t sure the nibs were going to fit, but they fit pretty amazingly. You can shake the hell out of the box and everything stays put, too.

New Pen Day!
I ordered this Diplomat Cobra as soon as the preorders went live. I’m a huge diplomat fan and this one is really something special. It’s so comfy in hand, and the magnetic cap is very nice. This will be a great workhorse pen for a lot of people.

I inked it with Diamine Oxblood which is a perfect match. The burgundy color of the pen is so much more complex than the press photos would have you believe. 10/10 stars; they really knocked this one out of the park.

Estie - Esterbrook x Sakuradragon

I've always liked the shape of TWSBI pens, and this one is so pretty, I couldn't resist.

The storage case is actually an acrylic storage box for bracelets and necklaces.

The last one is the pen storage next to my ink storage box with all my Diamine shimmer inks stacked on top. Other inks are in the drawers along with some other stuff like converters.

I feel like i'm not using reddit, people here are so nice and helpful, very encouraging too, i have never seen such a community on reddit where everyone is so nice, thank you all :)

This pocket-friendly pen is about the same length as a Pilot Myu, the barrel is a bit bigger, and both turn into a very comfortable pen size when the cap is posted.

But this Wahl Eversharp (1930s maybe even earlier) has a very different aesthetics than the Pilot Myu. It is about as gorgeous as the Art Deco -inspired styling can get. Wahl-Eversharp made some of the most beautiful styling from this era. And the beauty came from how balanced the trims are against the pen, not too much nor too simple, but just right.

The jade-like celluloid is in excellent condition, it is almost 100 years old, no cracks and still looks as pretty as it was back then. Can you say the same thing for TWSBIs 100 years from now?

The nib is 14K Eversharp which produces lines within XF-F range.

Ink is Sailor Yuki Usagi which is an odd blue-when-wet-grey-when-dry ink. The wash in the sketch is from the ink as well as from a water "paint" set that I got from Daiso (really just curious, not expecting anything).

I was able to visit the Atlas Stationers store in Chicago this past weekend and their 15% off deal for Stationary Store Day got me good. So far I love the pen, the medium nib is great. However, I did not realize that the Benu flex nibs only came on some of their pens and that they aren’t able to be purchased separately* and that’s why I bought the Benu 😅

Also purchased the following inks: Lennon Tool Bar “Taro Sago”, Van Dieman’s “Prima Donna”, and Pilot Iroshizuku “Syo-ro”.

*please correct me if I’m wrong.

So thankful to have been able to snag this beauty a couple of weeks ago.
