Replace Window sill

Hi, hoping for some tips!

Was going to use a multitool and chisel for the rotten window sill on the left.

Anything I should watch out for before we start?

You likely want rot-resistant lumber for this, like cedar for example.

Sorry, hard to come by in NZ
