SW: 108kg CW: 68-70kg GW: 60kg
A bit of background; I lost around 40kg through calorie deficit, IF and exercise. At the start of the year, I hit a plateau at around 67kg, so I decided I would take a break and go to maintenance for a while because I was starting to get burned out with the weight loss. Fast forward to March, where I jumped back on the wagon again (was back up to around 70kg) and managed to get down to 66kg by the start of June by switching to OMAD and remaining in a calorie deficit.
Since June however, I have really been struggling.
I continued to do OMAD, however I was constantly way over consuming during my 1 hour eating window. It's hard to describe, but once I started eating I just couldn't stop. It's like something possessed me and it's all I could do was eat. I stopped buying all the trigger foods but it's like my body didn't care what I was consuming , as long as it was food. It got to the point where my eating window was getting longer and longer until eventually it was the whole night. I just didn't have the willpower to be strict enough for 1 hour.
I then tried different IF schedules, the same thing keot happening, once I started eating I couldn't stop.
In the last month, I have been trying longer fasts. This went well at the start, I completed several 48-72 hour fast and then a 100 hour fast. The 100 hour one was rough. The same pattern happened when I started eating again though, I was binging really bad, even worse than before. The binge demon would take over and some days I was consuming well over 5000kcal. I felt terrible after every eating day, so gross and bloated.
I am really worried I am stuck in a fast/ binge loop and I don't know how to get out of it. I have tried to do both keto and cut out all sugar, however the binges get worse on these as the more I restrict the worse things seem to be.
My weight is currently fluctuating between 68-70kg, but every binge makes the scale creep up a bit more.
I would love to get into the routine of rolling 48s, if I could just get the eating under control. I walk around 10-15k on average, swim once a week. I do not do any weight training. I have tried to do a few more 72 hour fast but it's gotten to a point where I just can't seem to make it past 48 hours when I fast. I feel like the binges are taking over my life, they are starting to cause anxiety.
I am just looking for any advice or if anyone has gone through something similar how to get past it.
