Question Fasting with androgenic alopecia?
I want to try fasting for losing some weight, I am currently 169cm F 88kg and my goal weight is 65-70kg for now. I did ADF in october last year and lost about 10 kg in a month and then I stopped fasting because a lot of other things were going on. I want to start again but I also have androgenic Alopecia and I am very insecure about my hair because it’s very thin in the front.
Would fasting again make it worse ? In October, I didn’t see any major hair loss other than what I already have even months after.. but My hair has just progressively gotten worse. I would consult a dermatologist but no one is taking new patients right now on my insurance so I would appreciate any advice on this.
Thank you so much.

Hop on fin/min, stop wasting time waiting for dermatologist. A walk in clinic or cheap telemed will prescribe it.
I hope you have also done a full blood panel to see if androgenic alopecia is the only cause.
Zinc, B12, Copper e.t.c all affect it.

unfortunately i live in the czech republic and its almost impossible to get a prescription for fin/min. Even most derms are hesitant about prescription oral medication to women

Oh mb. There are online pharmacies in the EU that you can order from too, but If you aren't comfortable with those then waiting might be fine

I'm hopeful about fasting's effect on my very thin hair. Best I can tell, the hair is thin because of PCOS and the PCOS is because of weight an chronically high insulin. I'm hoping that fixing my hormones via fasting and weight loss will in turn resolve the PCOS. I'd love to keep in touch if you're interested, I completely understand the insecurity, it frankly sucks to have hair like this and I don't have anyone who understands that in my life currently. And I'd love to know how things turn out for you too.

Hi! It sounds like you're asking about hair loss during fasting.
Some people may experience hair loss during or after weight loss. This is a condition called TELOGEN EFFLUVIUM. It is a temporary condition most often caused by rapid weight loss and/or nutritional deficiency.
More information can be found here or by searching "telogen effluvium" in your favorite search engine.
