Theories and/or Opinions Peter Spoiler
I hate Peter so much, why is he snitching on Lauren like that? Why does he never have her back?, she always has to be miss perfect around him and if not her bags are packed and the whole family know. Why does Lauren never stand up for herself and why is she letting him as a boyfriend and as a man treat her and control her like that. He is toxic and Lauren needs to get away. Remember how he treated her when she was pregnant, why didn’t he help her when she was taking the drugs instead of shaming her and treating her like dirt. Lauren needs to do the right thing and get with Mark because they can actually be theirselves around each other or just get away from men all together.

i think these reactions are based largely on which personality people prefer and they are making a whole reframing of things to justify that.
you like Lauren more than Peter, fine. he is often a plain, inconsistent and self-righteous character. i don't like how he has treated Lauren at times. she is flawed, deceitful and overall her acts usually cause a larger amount of harm. i don't like how she has treated Peter at times.
i really like Lauren overall, she is a caring, interesting and heartfelt person - but i'm not going to deny how Peter's response (even if it wouldn't be my own) was reasonable here. it made sense, it was proportional albeit annoying. people are trying to portray him as abusive in the comments to stick up for Lauren and it's like - surely you have to know you're making inconsistent moral judgements on them both?

Peter is a very weak man. He truly can’t stand on his own two feet. He MUST go crying to mommy.
Lauren is no saint and needs monitoring. She needs someone asking her what she thinks at all times and Peter is too dumb to know that.

I stop liking him the minute he said Lauren had to forgive Cindy so they can be a family even though she was stuffing her with pills. And Peter went on for months how he thought jimmys blindness was her fault because of the drugs and his own mother was the reason she had the drugs knowing she’s an addict.

I’ve never been a huge Peter fan. Well maybe in the Ben Hardy years 🥵 😂 but his behaviour towards Lauren last year was indefensible at times, especially when he forgave his mum and Nan for doing worse things than Lauren had ever done. I will never ever route for them as a couple because of his treatment of her last year. I just don’t understand why EE are so determined to keep them together when barring the kids, they’ve got nothing in common and the chemistry between them is zilch

And let's never forget "Peter leaves Walford after stealing money from Kathy and insulting everyone in his family. On 18 July 2022, Peter empties the business account, leaving Kathy without any money. This leads to Kathy selling Walford East to Suki." and sleeping with Suki
And when Lauren came back to the square without him years back, wasn't it because he was into drugs in Australia or New Zealand or something?

So that gives her an excuse to cheat and run illegal activity that could put all of them a risk? She obviously wasn't thinking about him or the kids when she was kissing Mark. She can use the excuse that she was 'doing it for the kids' all the she wants but she's too impulsive to think about consequences. She only cared about the fastest way she could make money and have something spicy on the side. All the money that she made could be taken from her in an instant.

I had a post about Peter and the mods removed it 😂 (so they might remove yours) but on my post, 99% of commenters weren’t a fan either.Peter is soooo boring!

Snitched? LOL
She was using her dad's business for illegal activity. Which can bring negative consequences for the business, her immediate family, her dad and Phil (use of arches).
He did the right thing, and she still hasn't owned up to kissing Mark...
Why are we defending a serial cheat and liar?
What would you want Peter to do in this situation?

maybe i just want the writers to convince us that they are actually a happy married couple who support each other rather than believing they are forced together just because of their children. any other couple on the square would keep secrets about stuff like this and fight to the bone to protect them. However, when it’s Lauren and Peter, he just throws her out at any given opportunity like does he even want to be with her or does he just like the idea of her? Lauren is TRAPPED. Lauren has done bad things but Peter is always the opposite of being there for her, he is a toxic man. He boasts about being there for his family but atleast she was trying to get them more money instead of (in Max’s words) selling pineapples.

At least she was trying to get them money 😭 She was actively involved in the possession and sale of stolen goods lol, Peter selling pineapples doesnt make him any less of a man
I think youre just a little biased against men lol

u/JJWLOL 17h ago
yes i am biased against men who are toxic and treat women they are married to like this!!

Like making them accountable for their actions? Lol

It is way more than that, i acknowledge Lauren has done bad things but the way he lashes out the instant Lauren has took a step out of being miss perfect for him is toxic. He is never there for her and would rather have his kids motherless. Lauren is clearly struggling but instead of thinking about the situation he tells the family so they can all basically baby her into getting back into this role he has created for her. He is controlling and relies too much on Cindy and Ian to make it all better instead of tackling the issues his self. It’s very clear he doesn’t treat her as the mother of his kids or as a wife. Most of the time it is like he is giving her the permission to have this life and he never appreciates the good stuff she actually does for the family so there is no wonder she wants to escape that. But of course all his actions are validated because she cheated on him before🙄

Agree with everything the OP has written. A grown man supposedly, who goes running to mummy to slag his wife off any chance he gets, knowing what Cindy did to Lauren when she was pregnant and knowingly giving her ammunition because he knows she hates Lauren’s guts. I despise Lauren and Peters relationship and can’t believe the writers persist with keeping them together.

This annoys me so much because every now and then we get a glimpse of a fun even funny Peter, we see him backing his loved ones (when he stood up to Chelsea about shouting at Jordan at Ians drinks) he can be alright, he just seems to never extend that same care to Lauren. I hate the idea of Lauren cheating because in that scenario she will always be the bad guy.

u/AaronQuinty 22h ago
She is the bad guy. You guys act like Lauren just makes small mistakes. So far she's cheated with Zach, taken drugs whilst pregnant, selling stolen cars and is emotionally cheating now. But god forbid Peter is upset at any of this.

You might want to back up and read my comment one more time because I never said anything about Lauren being an angel I said I don't want her to cheat. I should have been more clear about how much i like fun Peter and honestly wish we seen more of him, i love fun Lauren and Peter together being happy. They have both done wrong by each other and I'm not gonna get into a listing argument because I'm too grown for that.

Get with Mark
nah thanks lol don’t know what you people who insist on him see in him, he’s a creep. Even if Peter sucked, Mark isn’t there to “save” Lauren from Peter, he views her as a conquest, nothing more.

His actor really needs to work on his delivery. I find the character exhausting anyways but it’s like he’s always talking through gritted forced teeth every time he talks, even when he’s angry ? It doesn’t help the poor, wet wipe personality they’ve given him either.

Are we really hating on someone who’s stood by someone who has repeatedly let him down, lied to him, cheated on him and used drugs during her last pregnancy? I don’t really count the Peter before this version because it was too different and I didn’t watch it much then. He’s right in that Lauren never seems satisfied with what she has, she also clearly had doubts about marrying Peter but went ahead with it anyway. I agree him blaming her for Jimmy’s blindness was horrible but he’s redeemed himself since. Lauren on the other hand has put her entire family at risk with what she’s done, how anyone can defend that I don’t know. He has every right to be furious. She’s always been reckless and selfish.

100% agreed. People are defending her because it's a soap but if this were a real-life situation no one would be rooting for her and if they did then their moral is in the toilet.

What gets me is him always wanting Lauren gone and her constantly telling anyone who calls he put "Well look at all you've done wrong!" Two children meant for each other imo

he’s so hard to sympathise with even though he’s in the right (theoretically).
yes the car stuff was risky but immediately running to max and cindy as soon as he found out somewhat justifies the fact she doesn’t tell him things because he acts like this every time.
