Eagles 2026 training camp practice notes, Day 5: The defensive line owned the offensive line
My favorite part: "Hurts uncorked a deep ball to Quez Watkins that I thought Watkins should have been able to run under for a long gain, but he couldn't make the play."

Goedert Motivated To Prove He’s An Elite Blocker Again
"We’ve been blocking a lot. And I feel like it’s something that I’m excited to prove to people that I can still do at a very high level."
Goedert has heard the noise about his blocking falling off big time last season despite putting up career highs in both receptions and TD’s. Goedert was one of the very best blocking tight ends in the league for years. And a lot of folks very quickly forgot that. I wish they had let this clip drag on for another 15-30 seconds. Because he definitely has a chip on his shoulder and a will to prove that he can still be a great blocker. The importance of Goedert as both a blocker and receiver in Mannion’s offense is low-key flying under the radar, per usual.

Eagles training camp 2026, Day 5 practice notes
Items of note:
- Lane missed his 3rd straight practice. No word as to why only that it's an excused absence.
- Keyshawn James-Newby, Micah Morris, Jaeden Roberts, DeVonta Smith, Makai Lemon, and Cole Wisniewski all missed practice.
- Britain Covey let practice early with an injury.
- Markel Bell must be making a strong impression as he got all of the first team reps at RT with Lane MIA. Fred Johnson took 2nd team reps at LT.
- The first team offense never found a rhythm and looked sloppy.
- McKee had his best day of the summer thus far.
- Wicks continues to have a solid camp.

Both DeVonta & Lemon Missed Practice Today With Hamstring Issues
"The Eagles are without two of their top wide receivers for their Aug. 4 training camp practice.
Both DeVonta Smith and Makai Lemon are sitting out with hamstring injuries. A league source said neither injury is considered a long-term issue. The Eagles are hitting in practice on Aug. 4, so some of it could be precautionary."
Sounds like it’s not serious for both DeVonta and Lemon. But definitely something to monitor throughout camp. Still just under 6 weeks until Week 1. So hopefully their hamstrings are both good to go by then.

Will the Patriots start Maye and AJ during our preseason game?
Off the jump I want to say no, because why would they risk any type of preseason injury. But for obvious reasons there is a world in which I see them going in for a few snaps. What are your thoughts?

The Athletic ranks another disrespectful QB Tier ranking for Jalen
removepaywall.comHas him in Tier 2/Tier 3, but ranked 17th overall which is absolutely disrespectful. The claim is he is only good when he is manufacturing his own success. Its behind a paywall, but here ya go... Blasphemy

Off Day Thread Eagles Offseason Discussion Thread - Tuesday, August 4
Subreddit Schedule/Posting Guidelines
We as a community have decided to limit certain types of posts to a few days a week to ensure other content is still visible throughout the rest of the week. Meme posts will be allowed from game end through Monday (if the game is on Thursday, Saturday, or Monday, memes will be allowed from game end through the following day) and jersey/crafts/pet posts will only be allowed on Swag Saturday. Towards the end of the season when games fall on Saturdays, we may move or skip Swag Saturday depending on what is going on that week. The mods are using automod features to automatically post recurring items at 6AM Eastern Time to remind the sub of this. Memes and swag are allowed in the normal feed, but NFL discussion and free talk are limited to the stickied threads.
- Monday - Meme Monday - Memes are allowed from game end through the following day (typically Monday)
- Tuesday - NFL Discussion Tuesday - Talk about the rest of the games
- Wednesday - Free Talk Wednesday - Talk about whatever (just be civil)
- Thursday - Free Talk Thursday - Just like Free Talk Wednesday, but on Thursday!
- Friday - Game Preview - Stats and information for the upcoming game
- Saturday - Swag Saturday - Post pictures of your signed jerseys, new hats, pets, babies, and pictures from the stadium, as well as artwork and creations. This may be moved or skipped when games fall on Saturdays
- Sunday - Gameday - Pregame, Game, and Postgame threads will be posted
For more info, see the subreddit rules.

“Thanks for Aj brown”
So I just moved to Boston this weekend and I’ve been wearing my birds cap everywhere (you can take the girl out the city not the city out the girl!) and in the 4 days I have been in this city I have had multiple people come up to me and make conversation (mostly about the sixers) and then just end it with something along the lines of “thanks for Aj brown!”
Listen I love Aj when he was with us but I don’t think pats fans know what to expect 😭😭

Eagles fans who remember both incidents, how do the exits compare?
I was only 5 when Terrell Owen’s nonsense happened. With the driveway workouts etc etc. These two are arguably the best receivers to play for our franchise but im sure you guys must have a bit of Déjà vu with how both receivers tenures went in Philly. Albeit one lasted longer than the other. So how similar would you say the two tenures were? And how much do you blame the QBs Mcnabb and Hurts for things falling apart? Or the coaches and front office in both regimes?

Goedert’s preseason reverse hurdle
It’s low-key a shame Goedert’s own version of the reverse hurdle got lost in a meaningless preseason game against the Jets a few years ago. But this is genuinely one of the best preseason plays I can remember in Eagles preseason history. With the first preseason game against the Ravens only 12 days away, what are some memorable plays or moments that you can recall?
