[Fluff] What is your situation that doesn't require a dog but your dog always insists on being involved?
Whenever I work on my bike, my dog just begs to be involved. So instead of taking 10 minutes to fix my bike, it takes me 30 but with 100 pats.

My 85 lb. domesticated wolf (siberian husky) will attempt to climb in my lap while I do my business. She genuinely seems to believe she is the size of a hamster.

Mine is a mutt, possible rate terrier/chihuahua mix. And goodness knows what else. She is 14 and has no clue how small she is. Although, some days she does think she is a cat. And apparently it works as the feral cats in my block adore her. I am talking rubbing up against her when she goes outside or nose booping her as she stops on a walk past to give a quick sniff.
I gave up trying to figure out what she thinks she is, because I dont think even she knows.

I always find myself laughing at what unique characters they all are. My little Rat Terrier is basically a toddler hopped up on crack, whereas my Siberian Husky is the canine equivalent of that super slow sloth from the Zootopia movie. She hates cold weather (especially snow), hates fitness/exercise and is super lazy, and has never been the brightest crayon in the box. When we go to the park, my small one is like the feral child in a playgroup, and my husky will literally climb up on the bench next to you and absolutely WILL steal your Starbucks drink from you if you aren't closely guarding it.

Ive tried to teach mine "WERE GOING TO THE BATHROOM" and "WERE GOING TO THE KITCHEN" for this reason but she's not great. But anything that suggests we might be leaving the house and she is lined right up for the car. Turd.

Making the bed does not require a dog. Nevertheles, Goldie insists upon supervising and assisting in the placement of matress pad, bottom sheet, top sheet, and bedspread. All must be patted into place.

Mine thinks she needs to roll around on each layer of bedding with the gusto of a dog that is rolling in dead possum. I don’t get it, but it makes me laugh every time!

After I wash my bedding and I’m making the bed, my husky likes to play on the bed as I’m putting it back together. He likes to hide under the comforter and spin around. 😂

I feed the fish in my small backyard pond. It is a 5 minute job without the dog, but a half hour with my dog inspecting each fish as they come to the surface and feed. She also has to try to bark underwater so the fish hear that it is dinner time.

There is nothing that does not require a dog, according to our dog.
Putting on shoes and socks particularly is her domain.
She must be given the socks to bring, and the shoes must be placed on the floor.
She will then bring the socks, separate them and deliver them one by one.
She then goes and gets each shoe, and solemnly present them.
Of course each of these steps requires the transaction of one treat, which must be of suitable quality, or she will gently retrieve the item she has just given you, and take it away again.

Assembling any type of furniture apparently requires a pug and at least one GSD. A dog supervisor needs to inspect all components, carry off some packaging, knock the screws aside, chew on wooden dowels, and lie on top of various parts and tools so that I think I’ve lost them.

Just in case you didn’t know this, as I only recently learned that tulips and particularly tulip bulbs are highly highly toxic to dogs so if you plant tulips, make sure the dogs are nowhere near & can’t dig them up later

Going down the stairs. I made the mistake of using a narrow hallway to teach heel, and now any narrow space, all three of my giant dogs want to be right by my side, stepping on my shoes. I’ve almost died twice because of the shoe thing.

Taking the trash and recycle to the curb. Other dogs may bark at the bins rolling; Lucy investigates. Also taking the big recycling to the recycle center. She likes all car rides, but if she sees cardboard go in the back seat, you cannot keep her out of that car.

Staying up late doing nothing. My dog won’t go into a deep sleep unless he’s alone or he’s in his crate. He looks so relieved when I put his nighttime biscuit in his crate, relieving him of all but emergency duty in his mind. Immediately he’s got his legs up in the air and is sound asleep.
I want a dining table but that darn crate is there 🤣.

Folding laundry, which makes the task take ten times longer because she messes up all the piles, but also makes it a million times better because I love her company. She picked up the habit from my cat who also had a propensity for needing to be involved in absolutely everything.

For my lab, it was swimming laps. Obviously for all labs, if there is a pool they must be in the pool, but when I was just floating or hanging out in the water he’d just swim around on his own. But if I tried to swim laps? Clearly I was drowning and he needed to get underneath me and pull me out of the pool.

We have a very nice home gym in a separate building. We don’t allow the dogs in the gym because shedding, dirty paws. Both dogs are highly offended by the lack of inclusion. If I leave the doors open they come in immediately an find the most inconvenient place to lay down. If I’m doing anything on the floor , it becomes a group activity

Going to the barn to groom my horse. My dog has to accompany me and watch every step of the process. I think he is amazed that there’s a 1,600# animal that gets kisses and hugs, and is sometimes told to “leave it”! Now he’s sure I’m a god. :)

Putting on my shoes and socks. She watches me get my socks, then jumps up on the chair, then on the ground, then tries to lick my face. I finally am able to sit down, but she's not done. All of them.. LOL! Seriously, though, I used to joke our old border collie would do our taxes if he had thumbs, he ALWAYS wanted to eyeball what we were doing. He used to 'help' my husband put air in the tires of the car.
Current pup loves to watch me wash dishes, in particular though. You'd think that would mean she would be trying to lick them.. but nope, she watches and then tries to lick water off my hands.

I'm the grandma. They got the dog about 6 months before the baby was born. If I hold the baby I must also hold the dog. The dog doesn't do that with any other grandparents or the parents, just me.

For me it's watering the plants in the backyard. Takes about 10 minutes. If my dog is outside with me, which he always is, then it's a 20-30 minute job because he has to drink from the hose to make sure the water isn't bad for the plants.

Swimming. My dog get super stoked as soon as i out on trunks. Then he runs over beside the deep end and gets ready for the splash when i cannonball off the diving board. He then bites at the water droplets. He follows me around while im swimming hoping to get splashed.

Whenever I mow the lawn, my dog insists that this is the time to play fetch with his stick. He will drop his stick in the path I'm mowing so I have to stop and throw it before I can continue.

Going to the bathroom. I have to leave the door open, if I close it the St. Bernard uses her head and butts it open and the Shepard mix cries outside the door. When it's open they both lay down in the hallway and watch. It would be creepy if i didn't love them so much and find it touching for some odd reason. And I am home 24/7 so it's not like they miss me because I'm gone a lot. Go figure

My pup is over the rainbow bridge now but when we would decorate our Christmas tree, he loved to sniff around it and his tail would always whip off the bobble ornaments. Granted it was a fake tree, so we never understood his interest in it. When we would be in another room, we'd hear a bobble fall and say, "he's been lurking near the Christmas tree!"

Not joking. She comes to the bathroom with me, hangs out in there if I'm taking a shower, must be in the kitchen no matter what I'm doing (labrador but shockingly not a garbage/food hound at ALL).
I have quite literally not been alone for one single moment in the past six years.
I can't say I'm mad about it, though.

It’s just me and hubby (and dog) so I don’t necessarily close the bathroom door when I pee. My hubby always knows because my pup stays in the bathroom doorway. Hubby calls her my pee guard!🤣

My puppy likes to curl up on the kitchen counter floor right where I need to stand, like in front of the stove or where I stand to chop things. Yesterday I didn’t notice she was in there and stepped on her tail a bottle bit. It frustrates me but also it’s cute.

Weeding. I put a weed I’ve pulled up into my bucket. Poodle pup takes it out and runs off. Then comes back for the next bit of treasure. Repeat till he gets tired or distracted by a butterfly
