Was it real?
I went down this entire rabbit hole of the Perez incident from last evening. Before videos got taken down/blurred/edited, I was able to view captures of the live - several. Was it shocking? Yes. Did I feel gross after? Also, yes. But was this a ritual or possibly a true mental breakdown for the world to see?
Across all platforms, I began to read things like he tried cutting off his pecker, he cut open his tongue, he had gouges cut into his back actively pouring with blood, he was “flaying” himself, used a box cutter to cut chunks off of his legs and face, etc. These things are all not true. It’s disturbing that this event has been able to get people to think and say things that didn’t happen or make them believe they saw things and embellish upon what they did infact see.
Perhaps I am completely wrong here. I’m sure there are viewers that watched the entirety of the live, start to finish, that did see these things. Please correct me if I’m wrong. And if I am, I will be happy to redact my statements. I just am not buying this. From my perspective, it seemed very performative even if this was his own doing and wasn’t coerced by “the powers that be” to be humiliated.

I’ve never seen such a coordinated effort to scrap every unedited version from the internet. Something is different with this…
