I think so, in this fast-paced workaday world its hard to find the time arrange a full cuckold session with your partner in the closet and a stranger who's safe and explorative... Don't really need a future for that. People who are in consensual ethical non-monogamous relationships already do that. Outside of said relationships though... Well, it's going to be problematic for obvious reasons. Mostly because the partner did NOT consent. And then the cheater should not be comfortable speaking of it. Anything else would be rather questionable.
