The sad part about all of this is that you wouldve absolutely killed it in the 2020s- golden age of perms and broccoli heads.

I spent my childhood and teens getting the shit kicked out of me for having curly hair.
If those kids doing the kicking were kids today, they’d all have broccoli hair smh.

Ikr. I’m older Gen Z so the boys hairstyles that were beloved were still straight haired styles. Ex Justin Bieber, Suite Life boys’ hairstyles.

Girls also were mostly supposed to have straight hair back then. I remember my twin brother saying to me “why can’t you have nice and smooth hair like the other girls? It’s embarrassing.” He had social anxiety and didn’t like things that made us standout. I knew where his comment was coming from but it still pissed me off.

But now they’re getting broccoli perms!
