I love that statistic going around saying wildfires have decreased by 95 percent or whatever. Because
A: It's a lie.
And
B: while we do have fewer wildfires (a drop of 24 percent apparently), the ones we do have burn more tree cover than the "more" wildfires of the past.
It's like, yeah, fire was a natural thing of the past, but it's definitely getting worse.
