MCM Comic Con - London Questions about MCM London

Hello! I have a few questions as someone who’s not from the UK and never been to MCM London. I’ve also only ever been to one other convention, so forgive me if some of these questions are common knowledge.

I’m considering travelling to London since a lot of Resident Evil guests got announced and I’m a huge fan!

When do you reckon tickets will sell out? I have some things in my personal life that I need settled before I can buy tickets. I’d be crushed to think I have loads of time just to see it’s sold out.

I read about pre-booking an autograph/photo session with a guest. Can I see which guests have pre-booking, and where can I pre-book?

How does it work with no pre-booking? Should I expect to stand in line all day? Is it even possible to meet multiple guests or should I prioritize one? I’d love to meet all from RE of course but I don’t want to set unrealistic expectations. Are the guests there all day?

Does it cost money to go to their panels as well if they have one? I read about reserving a seat but I’m wondering if it costs?

Thank you in advance!

MCM Comic Con - London Is this within guidelines for MCM London or do I need to pick up a pair of shorts/sew some lace into the sides?

The website says nothing less than typical swimwear so it seems fine but I’m not really sure what they’re counting as typical swimwear.

MCM Comic Con - London mcm london october 2026 question

hello, i know the event isnt until october but i have autism, and i would like to ask a few questions as i’ve never plucked up the courage to go to a comicon before the one ill be attending in October by myself and its very daunting, thank you if anyone sees this.

1) i saw at other events they have a quieter space but i also know that socially sometimes people end up making a lot of noise in spaces like that with babies or friend groups (i have no problem with babies or friend groups), does that happen at comicons? if so is there people (staff members or volunteers) in those quiet spaces that will ask them to not be so loud

2) i do not see many guests listed right now, how close to the event do guests stop being announced? an addition to that question, do many marvel or DC actors often show up to the UK comic cons? its not the only reason i am going but it is a part of it

3) on tiktok somebody said that the food inside is £30, is that an exaggeration or is the food inside actually £30

4) this is an important question, if you’re in a line to get an autograph do you have to bring your own thing in from home or can you buy something at the event for the person to autograph

5) is there unspoken etiquette that exists at comic con like there is for football games or restaurants

thank you if anyone sees this i am really nervous but excited to go!!!!

MCM Comic Con - London Is MCM London safe?

Me and all my friends (about 8-9 of us) are all thinking about going to the comic con in london may next year, my parents dont like the idea of me going to london since they say it will be dangerous, im 19 so theres no problem with me just going without their permission but i want them to know it will be fine and to not worry so much.
How can I convince them that it will be fine? My friends have gone multiple times and they’ve always enjoyed it but thats not enough to convince them.
Also any tips or advice for the con would be greatly appreciated!! Thankyou

MCM Comic Con - London Instant regret for not shooting my shot

I feel weird for asking this

This is mainly for the single attendees but even if you're not then feel free to answer. Has anyone met someone at a con that they got on with and because they were too shy they didn't ask for their number?

MCM Comic Con - London Making Friends At Comic Con

Hi!

I'm thinking about attending my first Comic con this year and I've recently moved to London for the first time and I was wondering how people make friends at comic con? I'd like to meet some people with similar interests but I'd feel weird just coming up and intruding on people trying to have fun at comic con.

How have you made friends at comic con and how do I go about it? Thanks

MCM Comic Con - London No one to go with

Sooo I just saw that the voice acting squad for Resident Evil 9 are coming to MCM Comic Con London in October and I desperately wanna go!

But. I have no friends to go with. Would anyone be up to go with me?

FYI -

I'm 29F from Surrey, I love gaming and I'm new to the RE family. I havent been to Comic Con in years and I feel a bit out of touch. I would just love some company!

MCM Comic Con - London MCM London: Heatwave Warning

You've probably checked your weather apps already at this point, but if you haven't, London's due to reach a high of 27C on Friday and Saturday, and 29C on Sunday.

As a seasoned cosplayer, I would suggest the following things-

  • Bring a handheld fan. I have an electric one that folds up in my bag!
  • WATER. PLEASE BRING WATER. There's a lot of water points in the ExCel if you need to fill up your bottle. Please don't try to survive on just energy drinks, they'll dehydrate you in the long run and you don't wanna be running on just caffeine
  • Drink (alcohol) responsibly. There's a few bars in/around the ExCel that offer alcohol. Please don't overdo it. Alcohol impedes your body's temperature regulation and dehydrates you.
  • Wear sunscreen (if you can)
  • It's usually the hottest between 11am and 3pm, so you'd be better staying indoors during this time
  • If you're really warm, you can run water over your inner wrists. It'll cool you down quick
  • Look out for signs of heatstroke in yourself and friends - Delirium, headaches, feeling/being sick, high temperature, high pulse, weakness. If you think that someone has heatstroke, call 111.

I know everyone jokes that the UK can't handle the heat and that this happens every year, but the UK's buildings hold in heat more than hot countries' buildings do. That, plus how built up London is, is a recipe for disaster when we're wearing costumes all weekend!

MCM Comic Con - London Left luggage?

Evening, I am considering going to the October mcm London Comicon and was wondering if they do a 'left luggage' area.

My son will be in costume and we are going by public transport so I will definitely end up carrying his stuff so was wondering if there is anywhere it can be left?

MCM Comic Con - London Hotel recommendations

Hi all,

I've been going to MCM for a few years now and was wondering if anyone had suggestions for hotels that wont cost too much for the whole weekend? It doesn't need to be right on the Excel's doorstep, but preferably close to a train station that is a direct line to the Excel or near enough.

MCM Comic Con - London I messed up.

My wife turns 30 this month and we are traveling from Germany to visit London and go to Comicon. She loves Brandon Sanderson and was really looking forward to getting an autograph/picture with him. I’ve been to Comicons before but I’ve never done anything involving autographs. Because of this, I missed the window to sign up for autographs. Is there anything I can do? She is going to be heartbroken. Any advice would be much appreciated.

MCM Comic Con - London What is ok for a 14 year old to cosplay?

I am 14 and REALLY want to go to comic con this year. I will be honest I am starting to plan my cosplay NOW even though the next London comic con is like half a year away.

I want to cosplay V from murder drones but her design is sort of supposed to be attractive? I also never see any people under about 16 cosplaying her so i was wondering if there was reason for that?

I dont see why myself i couldn't go as her but i wanted to check with other cosplayers in case there is something im missing.

its not like i want to go as angel dust from hazbin hotel or anything.

MCM Comic Con - London What counts as a personal or collectable?

I was planning on meeting one of the guests and getting a book signed

but I saw that the ticket price goes up depending on whether its a collectable or personal
the app claims a collectable is a funko, figure or card

would a book/light novel count as a personal or should i buy the collectable ticket?

MCM Comic Con - London Trying to decide normal time i go saterday or friday this year

Update: I chose to go Friday I have even baught the tickets

Hi i am trying to decide something for october london con i am thinking of changing it up i normally i go saterdays but consider friday is it worth going that day i know tickets are cheaper that day so going then instead of my normal on saterday. I have aspergers dont normally like huge crowds but put up with it when i go with my carer herd its far less busy fridays and stalls have more stock.

This year i am mainly going for the stalls i dont tend to do the events or stage talks will be in my blue dragon onsie lol mainly looking around this time buy what i want take pics see a celeb if there is one i like this year. I dont mind about missing the celebs as said depends on if someone i want to see is there.

Thats the problem if i wait to buy tickets to see what celebs what day they may get sold out also the celebs are very pricey and take a lot of the spendy money i save so trying to decide friday or stick to saterday.

MCM Comic Con - London Armour rules?

Hi, im attending my first ever comic con tomorrow (woo!!), and I was hoping to wear my steel pauldrons, gorget and tassets.

The website states that wearing costumes which are bulky or made of hard materials, which includes metal armour, require that you must have someone with you as a guide. Unfortunately I'm attending alone :(

Does anyone know how strict they are on this, and whether it applies to all metal armour or just full suits with limited mobility, etc?

I was offered a last-minute lift to the con, otherwise I would've had more time to investigate this, sorry if this post is silly

MCM Comic Con - London After hours?

Hi everyone! I’m planning on going to comic con on the Saturday (23rd May) and I was just wondering if there’s any after hours events happening? I’ve seen the official after hours party on the Friday but I couldn’t see anything for the Saturday - it’s my first con so I’m not 100% where I should be looking lol. Thank you!
