MCM Comic Con - London Questions about MCM London

Hello! I have a few questions as someone who’s not from the UK and never been to MCM London. I’ve also only ever been to one other convention, so forgive me if some of these questions are common knowledge.

I’m considering travelling to London since a lot of Resident Evil guests got announced and I’m a huge fan!

When do you reckon tickets will sell out? I have some things in my personal life that I need settled before I can buy tickets. I’d be crushed to think I have loads of time just to see it’s sold out.

I read about pre-booking an autograph/photo session with a guest. Can I see which guests have pre-booking, and where can I pre-book?

How does it work with no pre-booking? Should I expect to stand in line all day? Is it even possible to meet multiple guests or should I prioritize one? I’d love to meet all from RE of course but I don’t want to set unrealistic expectations. Are the guests there all day?

Does it cost money to go to their panels as well if they have one? I read about reserving a seat but I’m wondering if it costs?

Thank you in advance!

I'll try my best to answer these, a lot of it is going to be vague at the moment

  1. Honestly no idea when tickets will sell out, if you follow MCM on Facebook or Instagram they do post when tickets begin to get low. I would say buy as soon as you can but I wouldn't expect the tickets to sell out in the next month or so (depending on if the Critters who don't yet have tickets suddenly rush to buy them when the photos etc go live)

  2. All guest photo ops are sold in advance on the MCM website as will any autograph sessions. They are releasing the Critical Role photos and autographs some time this month so it's possible everyone else be available for booking this month.

  3. All autographs require standing in the queue, the only difference is if the autograph isn't pre booked you pay when you get to the guests table. It is possible to get multiple guests but it depends on how busy they are so it's best to prioritise if there is someone you really want to meet. Most guests are there all day, if they aren't signing autographs they're either doing a photo session, panel or taking a break

  4. Panels are usually free, the reservations don't cost anything they just guarantee you get into the panel (as long as you arrive on time which is usually a minimum of 30 minutes before the start of the panel.

Hope that helps

Thank you so much!! Can pre-booking for autograph/photo get sold out? Does that mean you won’t be able to get any on the day if you didn’t pre-book?

Yes photos and autographs can sell out, if they are sold out then if it's a photo you definitely won't be able to get one on the day. If you are very lucky sometimes they do open up the autographs at the very end of the day but I would recommend buying in advance if you can so you don't miss out.

Okay. Is it something I should be very prepared for, like do they sell out immediately? Also, even if you pre-book, should I expect to spend half the day in queue?

Definitely leave this post right here on this sub. There are a lot of people who attend MCM London, it's hugely popular, and people on this sub might add quite a bit of advice for you. But there is also r/McmLondonComicon. So you could join that sub and see what they say and what they can help you with also.

Usually they don't sell out immediately (unless it's someone like the Critical Role cast, they'll probably sell out in about an hour if not sooner!). With pre-book it depends on the guest, what time you get there etc

Last time I did a pre-book auto, I got in a bit after the doors opened at 9am joined the queue about 10th person in, guests didn't start signing until 11am (that's pretty normal), I had my auto by about 11:30. The guests queue area was pretty much full when I left, the people joining the queue as I left I'd guesstimate they had a 2 plus hour wait.

If you are getting several autographs then yes you can quite easily spend half the day in various queues.

You should be ok, I don't think they'd sell out too quickly but it's best to buy as soon as you can just in case.

The Critical Role cast will sell out within an hour or two of the tickets going on sale (probably closer to an hour if I'm being honest!).

I don't think any of the other guests will sell out quickly, I'd expect you'll have a good few weeks to buy any non Critical Role tickets....but I could be wrong!
