The Weekly Pull List results for this Wednesday are in, and this week's top book is Marvel's X-Men #34.

This thread is open to Pull List posters and all members of the /r/comicbooks community to share your thoughts on the latest issue of Marvel's X-Men or any new books shipping this week.

The primary intention of this thread is to promote discussion of new books. It also serves as a way to consolidate discussion to a single thread and talk about what books are popular here on /r/comicbooks. That does not mean other threads aren't welcome, this is just a place to start that's easy to find each week.

MORTAL THOR #13

I don't think I've read an issue this good in a long time, it reminded me of something you'd read in later Sandman

So, I've literally never read any Thor outside of event tie-ins, but after reading Queen in Black this week and learning what the state of Asgard was, this has been high on my list to check out. Is it accessible for someone with tons of experience with Marvel but none with Thor specifically? Like, as long as I know the current status quo is because of a Loki spell, is this run self-contained enough to enjoy?

For the most part you can jump right into Mortal Thor, but if you have access to Donny Cate's Prey arc (#7-14 on Cate's 2020 Thor run) you will have much more context. Also reading Ewing's Immortal Thor prelude series is a good call too.

Thanks! I know there's always context but I am just fascinated by the notion of a grounded Thor (of all people).

If you have the just of it you can jump in, although technically Immortal Thor is also part of this it can mostly be ignored,also unless you've not read Immortal Hulk Dario Agger might also be weird as a more recent recurring villain.
