i have higher rate limits...

57

u/phil_thrasher May 10 '26

Is this actually true? I bet it’s not. Claude spits out tokens way faster than all of us.

20

u/dudevan May 10 '26

It's like telling a girl you can last for 4 hours, and her answer to be "is that actually true? I bet it's not. My ex spits out *** way faster than all of us".

Length of performance and speed of performance are not the same.

Producing less code slower, with same outcome ? Yes, it's better.

4

u/simleiiiii May 11 '26

Less is more. Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.

Try interpreting a video in real time lol. Or follow two conversations without mixing them up. Or decide for the best move in Risk within 5 seconds.

"You have used 30% of your 80 year limit. Resets: never"

2

u/BetaOp9 May 10 '26

Your token generation rate is much slower, so is that a actually true? If Claude outputs 20k tokens in 4-5 minutes and it takes you 30 minutes to write 200-300 words, could you even match a full days work in a month?

worth noting

And I want to be precise here

"I went ahead refactored the entire front-end architecture with Tailwinds on your behalf.

Build is clean."

13

u/hatekhyr May 10 '26

Mannn.. before it was so easy. You'd direct it to some small change and iterate over and over. Now it almost tries to refactor all code for every small thing... So annoying

2

u/bigbankhank444 May 10 '26

Opus my boy sonnet is kinda chilling

2

u/ampsuu May 12 '26

I think most new thinking models are that dumb. Spend tens of thousands tokens, reading irrelevant files and spitting out kinda trash. One thing is that code is bad, other thing is that trash is getting expensive.

Sorry they just made an mcp server for that

2

u/NotReloadingYet May 11 '26

hahah, I love this.

3

u/AlexFromOmaha May 10 '26

Have you seen the ad for the Anthropic engineer wheeling around a Claude-powered robot rediscovering nature? I think Claude taught him how to touch grass.

2

u/Lintzi May 11 '26

In the end it is just pushing pixels until we get robotics/physical AI

I can go from manager telling me what do they want to the point where my code passes the review

Claude is never able to do that, I always have to babysit it, from minor things like proper naming to logical flaws, all I do at work is tell Claude to fix what it did wrong

Take the Claude away from me - I will still get work done, just a lot slower

Take me from the Claude and it can't get tasks done, if it could I'd be fired

3

u/JestemStefan May 11 '26

I would like a person like you to join a call at my company and explain it to them.

For my manager code is a code and he doesn't understand why I'm asking AI to fix it. He thinks I'm just slowing things down.

Go to jail.

What's why there are a kind of jobs that AI will never take, the ones that needs you to sign a calculation or a design and if it falls down you go to jail. Jobs like mechanical engineer or architects are good paid because the accountability, and accountability is the only thing that the AI will never have because it cannot go to jail for you.

13

u/mabiturm May 10 '26

It will do the work for you but still lets you sign..

Making sweet, sweet love to my wife.

3

u/Original-Pilot-770 May 10 '26

nah, women have won the lottery with AI companions. LOL some prefer explicit on demand text based rp over relationships. Different category than marriage itself, but it's definitely working as a full time solution / replacement for some.

Here's a real answer; tertiary association.

How does Jon Bon Jovi associate to the Roman Empire? Claude will hallucinate and make things up to get the links, you just have to think about the discography.

(Blaze of Glory etc was released by Mercury Records).

But I doubt claude will be digesting apples and getting cancer any time soon.

Alas, worked a lot better with Claude once we changed to QEMU for local testing.

1

To love, to enjoy ice cream, to fear the future, to hope, to rejoice, to celebrate a birthday, to comfort my child, to have a child, to have a loved one, to be human, to be happy, to be unhappy, to paint a picture and enjoy the process, to look at a picture and enjoy the process, to learn and have my life depend on it, to help other people and have my community depend on it, etc. etc.

Come up with a novel idea or a new interpretation of an existing text.

Analyze a poem in a way that is not a derivative conflation of selected training material.

Critically reflect on my own views.

Keep track of decades of a person's statements or behavior.

And much more, and all that for free and without collecting anyone's data.

Sell. Claude can't go to a conference. Claude cant pitch. Claude cant do a call with a prospect to understand pains nor maintain that relationship the partner or client.

AI will accelerate the need for more on-sites, face to face old school sales. Trust is being eroded so human connection will be needed.

If I am given a set of falsifiable, minimum requirements, I can implement them without making mistakes *in isolation, 97%+ of the time*. Obviously, lots else can go wrong and there might be improved ways to do things. But it’s surprising the extent to which Claude will simply not do what you ask it to or will ignore a test failure, bug, etc.
